Is there some type of reaction between aluminum and steel when they are in physical contact with each other?  I read something about this a while back but cant remember the details. Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks

All disimilar metals have a different electrical potential.  They will corrode when in contact with each other.  The process is called galvanic action.

There are ways to isolate, protect, and minimize the process.
