Is a raid array in a seperate box with 3000+ overkill... Not mp3 and they all my CDs. Of course my former part time job was DJing.

You cant listen to more than about 500 regularly.

In that case, I have about 150 or so. All legal, so I don't fill up my HD with a bunch of crap.

I probably could double it to fill out the collection. I think I have a dozen or so CD's yet to rip.

At max, I'd probalby say there are only a max of 500 albums that are actually worth having.  I probably sold off 200+ CD's in the past few years because I realized my tastes have evolved and I didn't like crap anymore.
