Definitely sweet!  Guy next to me at the range was shooting it when I got there, it was the first time he'd had it out.  First time I've actually seen one at the range.  He was prior Army, said he got out a few years ago, and this was a gift from one of his friends.  He let me shoot that, and I let him shoot my 03A3.  I have to say, I did have to get a GOOD cheek weld and get down low on the stock to get my eyes in line with the sights.  Didn't do too bad, I thought.  When he shot my 03A3, he posted a helluva 5-shot group for 100 yards with an unfamiliar weapon.  Wasn't centered, but they were all within 2-1/2"!  Pretty damn good for just resting your elbow on the table if you ask me.  You Army boys know how to shoot!

I was thinking about getting an M1A, but now I'm not so sure ....

How would you like to shoot this one?

I recently bought a 4" model myself, I love shooting it.

Aren't they great?

$10 mags, and cheap parts too. FALs are great.

If you get one I would get the humpback Austrian style stock. You'll notice it because it looks kinda funny, and has basically the top inch or so shaved off back to the buttpad. Gives you a better cheek weld with the iron sites and was the original design for the rifle I believe. Most FALs come with a regular type stock, but you can get aftermarket humpback stocks.

+1

Shot the 4" model  with the 400gr Magtech load.
I swear every muscle in my hand spasmed after I shot it a second time, hurt for 15 minutes too.

When you need a 7.62x51 to shoot everytime you squeeze the trigger, pick FAL.  90 countries did.

I couldn't decide myself between the FAL and M1A.

I got both.
