and thinks it's one beautiful and all of one piece design all over car?
M4-AK |

i think its the new miata.
i kinda like it, kind dont. i havent decided. |
I think the Miata is the better car, but man does that thing bring back 54 Corvette and 50's Jaguar xkss racer in one body. Looks to me like one designer did the whole thing.

Is the Turbo out yet. I may have to get my ass to a Pontiac dealership and test drive that bad boy. If it is anything like a Miata I would have to use a shoe horn to get in. I could barely fit in one when I was 12.
it looks great from the rear, the front looks like a wide BMW Z4 with a short hood.
if they changed the front it would be great. |
yes, there is another supercharged model coming, but remember it's GM and might be a long time off. They still have a 5 speed in this car in 2006. I am surprised it has disc brakes all the way around. GM beancounters just stifle the completion of some cars. |
Saw one last month at the local Steak and Shake in Anderson, Indiana.
Not bad, but limited appeal, I figure. |
do you want an auto in that thing? |
I've seen several and they are nice looking and affordable...GM should have been doing this sort of thing 15 years ago before or shortly after the Miata revived that segment
I like the Sky from Saturn much better. Same car, different front end. If I wasn't happy with my camaro, I'd get a Sky Redline and play with boost settings. |

Why was I thinking naked gals dancing around a fire chanting? Man, college sure ruined me!
I've seen a bunch of them. They're VERY cool little cars... I'd love to get one but doubt I'd fit in it!
I'm 5'11, and I fit just fine. They're roomier than they look. |
Ummmm a 6 speed maybe. |
that's what I'm hoping the response would be. |
MX5 is available with 6 speed manual, or 6 speed auto.... Solstice just 5 speed manual and some kind of automatic. Doubtful it's even a 5 speed automatic. The MX5 has paddle wheel shifters for the auto. |
How much room is there? I am 6'1 and wear size 15 shoes, is there any hope
cute car
2 problems not enough power to interest me. It's still a pontiac. TXL |
I'm 6'4" and 235lbs right now... sometimes cars just don't fit guys like me. |

Any vehicle that weighs 3000lbs with a low torque 4 cyl will be gutless. V-6 or Turbo 4 would do it. |
I've seen one up close on a lot and a few on the road... stunningly good looks, IMHO (but I do love little roadsters ).
Amputation? |
I'm 6'3" and 300# and I've had a Miata for over 15 years now (granted, I was 80# lighter when I first bought it ). I still drive it at least once a week. FWIW, I've heard the Solstice is a little less forgiving of height than the Miata... |
If I remember correctly, Hot Rod magazine said that an LS2 will fit under the hood without much difficulty. I actually haven't seen a solstice, but i have seen the Saturn Sky a couple of times. |
Oh I thought you were talking about the celibration at stonehenge where people dance around naKED
Amen. Different tools (each with its merits) for different jobs (ditto). Sliding an "underpowered" little roadster through the twisties at/near full throttle can be a LOT of fun... |
I sat in one and I thought they were nice but I am still undecided. I would rather take my muscle car and do some upgrades to the suspension to make it a corner carver and have straight line acceleration.
I think getting a car like that, getting a little more power out of it... would be better (and cheaper) than what I'd really want to do: build a nice 72(ish) Porsche 911 RS clone and get buttloads of power out of it.
A little, well balanced roadster would be hella fun to throw around at a track. IIRC, the Solstice/Sky has a near 50/50 weight distribution, so it should handle pretty dang well. And yeah, I've heard of 150hp Porsches stomping on cars with 3x as much power on twisty tracks. Remember: Straight tracks are for fast cars. Twisty tracks are for fast drivers. |
This thread is about a car? You are all just a bunch of pagans...wait.
I too was hoping for nekkid chic talk/pics. ByteTheBullet (-: |
Wheres that kit from? I have a v-8 miata in the works |
With turbo the target MSRP is supposed to be 24. Best deal on the market if they make that happen. |
262 hp w/ 240ish ft-lbs of torque with stock turbo. At 2800 lbs. I figure you can probably get 300 hp with the right mods. In a small rwd package these will be quick cars. |
Someone already makes it for $40,000. Up to $55,000 if you want 600 hp. |

i've seen one... looks like a lima bean with wheels. no thanks
