I made the pilgrimage to Knob Creek today for the first time ever.
We got there at about 9:30am and had alot of traffic to deal with. We had to park in lot 4 so we had a nice hike in. The weather was cold and wet but we wore jackets and that made it ok. There were lots of gun porn to be seen and heard.
The barns had lots of vendors with just about anything you could want. Prices were not bad, I saw some ammo going for $150/1000 .223 and some Wolf 7.62 x39 for $120/1000. I got a good deal on renewing my NRA membership so that was good to.
If I was building a new AR I could have gotten the parts at good prices. Rack upon rack of uppers in any style you could want were to be found. I am looking to build a AR in .308 but the crowds kept me from finding the parts. I did see a few M1 Garands in good shape at $950. I loved watching the shooter and the .50's and the Mini guns.
I currently am having right foot problems that limit my walking so I could not enjoy iit as much as I could have but a day of booms, brrrrrrrrups of the Mini's, and the rattle of full auto made a good day.
I went with my brother who I recently gave a SKS to, and is now looking at EBR's and 1911's, and my 23yo son. The son got restless fast but I found out that he had PIE waiting at home, Oh to be young and have the world revolve around PIE.
All and all a very good day, well worth the trip, I plan on returning in the fall. And if this dang foot don't get better I'll get a handicrap sticker and scooter to make a better day of it. Oh and I will take plenty of cash and a shopping list.
If my post is a little disjointed I had to take some pain killers when I got home, sorry.
