In a battle who would win
Imperial Star Destroyer Enterprise D class Battlestar Galatica White Star (Babylon 5) Space Carrier Saratoga |
Imperial Star Destroyer.
In addition to it's turbo laser cannons it can also deploy TIE Fighters, Inteceptor and Bombers. It is also protected by an electronic deflector shield. |
Grand Admiral Thrawn Capt Picard Admiral Adama Command Sheridan Commodore Ross (Lt Col T.C. McQueen in command of air wing) |
Or course it will win, look at its gaint red penis |
John Crighton and Moya with their worm hole weapon can defeat all there collective asses
the rest are just posers... |
Grand Admiral Thrawn hands down. Also, the Saratoga is outclassed by every other ship on your list. It would be the first to go. |
Most Starfleet ships are not spaceworthy, including the Enterprise about half the time.
Well I wanted a 5th choice and it was what I knew I couldnt think of any other imperial commanders. I see the Enterprise going down next |
I voted for the White Star, but then noticed the Saratoga also on the list. One of my all time favorite programs, and a travesty it was cancelled, so I'd have say a toss up between the two.
Cylon Basestar, they have more Nukes. And its alive. |
+1 to all the above. The Imperial Star Destroyer is a capital space ship like no other. |
That's enough. |

ISDs use lasers. In one of the Next Gen episodes, Riker points out that their nav-deflectors can stop lasers.
Now, if Darth Vader is on board the ISD, he can just Force-Choke the crew. "Admiral Needa, you may now board the vessel. You will find no resistance...". He did it ship-to-ship in Empire, seems to make sense. I voted for the White Star, though I'm not actually sure about how the weapons/shields systems work, they seem devastating enough. NTM |
In Star Trek, there are a few times where it it made clear that laser weapons are no match at all against the Enterprise. However, at the same time, we must assume that the "lasers" in Star Wars aren't lasers at all, since they are moving far, far, FAR too slow to be bursts of light, so we must assume that the term "laser" must just be some sort of slang they use in Star Wars to describe the flying energy bolt things that they use. Therefore, the commonly used argument that anything from Star Wars would be useless against Star Trek ships on the basis of the comparative weakness of laser weapons is fundamentally flawed.
Oh, and Death Star pwns all. |
He has no defense for the cutting satire of our cartoon super-weapon. |
Are you guys joking, or smoking crack?
All the weaponry in Star Wars sucked ass. Slow rate of fire, poor targeting systems, low impact power - hell the Millenium Falcon could take multiple hits from a Star Destoyer!! |
That's a salient point. |
The Imperial Star destroyer couldn't even catch or destroy the Millenium Falcon. They suck!
I vote Battlestar Galactica. |
That's not true. Remember, the Falcon was capable of light speed and so were Imperial Star Destroyers. The problem was you couldn't track another ship if either or both were going light speed. |

class: Whitestar
type: Monitor length: 475.6 meters mass: 6.8 million metric tons crew: 38 troop: 60 fighter: 4 Nial Heavy Fighters power: Quantum Gravitic Reactor 3 Fusion Reactors duration: 5 Years weapon: 1 Quantum-Gravitic Discharge Beam Cannon 2 Pulsed Neutron Cannon 4 Pulsed Fusion Cannons defense: 1.8 meter re-enforced Vorlon Bio-Armored hull Gravitic Tractor Beams Vorlon Shields Minbari Stealth Device Yeah, the White Star simply outclasses every other ship in that feild in both energy production and weapons. Aslo it comes from B5, the only show in that list that boast real world physics! |
Enterprise D will just modulate the phaser frequency and execute a Picard Maneuver, blasting the ISD into bits. The tie fighters aren't even a good match for a shuttlecraft...at least some of the shuttlecraft have warp capability. Jim |
Enterprise, hands down. It can fight while traveling at warp speeds. None of the other ships can do that. The Enterprise would lay waste to a fleet of star destroyers or the Battlestar Galactica.
Really. Anything Ender Wiggin is in command of. |
+1 also it can seperate and fight! |
Now there's an interesting matchup. Ender Wiggin vs Honor Harrington. NTM |
Fuck!n A...a few FN P90's and a staff weapon and nothing but death for everyone else. |
I disagree. Star Destroyers have a full wing of TIE Spacecraft(72) which include TIE Bombers, Interceptors and fighters, almost 2 Legions of Storm Troopers(9,700) 60 Turbo Laser Batteries, 60 Ion Cannon batteries. I vote for the Imperial Star Destroyer |
The imperial ship in spaceballs, complete with bumper sticker. That thing was HUGE.
and their weapons fire very slowly, and don't have much effect. Heck, the shields of the millenium falcon withstood many, many hits from a Star Destroyer |
Enterprise = a research/exploration vessel, a lot of noncombatant crew
Imperial Star Destroyer = military vessel Best strategy for the ISD would be to pound the enterprise with it's fighters to keep the defenses busy, then board, and kill the crew. Enterprise crew vs. Stormtroopers? pwnage. |

A Space Battleship Yamato and Tenchi Muyo reference in the same thread on Arfcom.
Where is that NERDS! gif when I need it... |
