Well, it is April 1st, 2006. April Fool's day.

We all know there is a lot of stupidity in this world, more than a person can shake a stick at. So how about a new ARFCOM award to recognize the most stunning example of stupid in the past year?

So let's hear your nominations for the 2006 April Fool!

Please share your nomination and the reasons for that nomination. Nominees can be either an individual or a group.

ETA: I will start by nominating Mayor Ray Nagin. I think he is the most stunningly clear example of incompetence and stupidity in a government official in the last year.

Come on!  You can't think of some glaring examples of stupidity in the last year suitable for making fun of? As much as people gripe about stuff in GD here, there HAS to be something worthy of officially labeling as the dumbest thing of the year.

How about the Aztlan protests?
The French Government's response to the muslim riots?
The main stream media's reporting from Iraq?
Hillary Clinton saying that the immigration reform proposed in Congress would have banned Jesus and outlawed the Good Samaritan?
Smith and Wesson making an AR15?
School systems busting 8 year olds for sexual harrassment?

Most of the people of New Orleans rank pretty high on the overall stupidity scale. Hard to pick out just one although Nagin is pretty symbolic of that whole cesspool of ignorance.

Nagin is not an April fool.  He's a fool for all seasons.
