Riot reported at Nacogdoches High School

COX EAST TEXAS

Monday, March 27, 2006

According to early reports from witnesses at Nacogdoches High School a morning fight ended with about 75 students being detained.

Of those, about 15 arrests were made – six were over the age of 17 and taken to Nacogdoches County Jail and nine juveniles were transported to a juvenile detention facility.

Witnesses said the Monday morning brawl was a continuation of another disturbance that occurred over the weekend between Nacogdoches students and former New Orleans students who arrived in Nacogdoches when Hurricane Katrina flooded the Louisiana city.

On Saturday night, just after 11 p.m. officers were called to a disturbance at the Nacogdoches Peace Officers building on Martha Drive. Officers dispersed a large crowd, but no arrests were made.

Parents on both sides say the latest skirmishes were the culmination of months of unrest between New Orleans and Nacogdoches teens, with allegations of harassment being brought by both sides

We've been having the same kinds of problems in Houston.  Crime has jumped dramatically since the NO'ers came over.
