I was just wondering besides shooting what are some of your hobbies? I have noticed that  alot of people that  are into guns seem to like mostly the same things. Me for instance, I scuba dive and like to bike( motorcyle and bicycle). I was just wondering  what the others on this sight  get into. Thanks for the time to look, Oxfordpony

I am a complete music nerd.  Music is my life.  I am a music major, I've composed an orchestral symphonic poem (about 5 years in the making, almost finished) and before that a symphony (with which I sharpened my compositional teeth and I need to go back and re-orchestrate it), I play the clarinet, I often study scores or music books in my spare time, I listen to tons of late-19th century/early 20th century music, and some earlier music (but I never listen to modern music purposefully.)

I know the difference between the Mixolydian and Dorian modes, I know an augmented 6th chord when I hear it and whether it's a German, Italian and French, and secondary dominants never get by me.

But I also shoot guns and like playing violent video games, so it's OK to like music.

I use to do model rockets. Until that time I empty the parashoot compartment out and filled it up with some hodgdon retumbo ( Really powerful gun powder). The Idea behind it was that when the parashoot charge went off it would set off the powder blowing up the rocket in mid air. Last time I saw my Wal-Mart Rocket. Sometimes I find pieces of it.

I've seen some of RikWriter's photos - that man is NOT a hobbiest photographer.  His work could grace galleries.  VERY nice work.

As for me:

Kayaking (ocean)
Birdwatching (which has taught me a LOT about quality optics)
Music (just completed my new home stereo system - killer!)
Movies/TV series (mostly sci-fi and fantasy)
Role Playing Games (yes, I'm a nerd)

Most of all, though, I LOVE to cook - I am a chef-wannabe.  I watch cooking shows, scour the internet for recipes, am always buying expensive knives and kitchen devices, and just love to cook things.  And I love to match alcoholic drinks with these meals.

A few members here have actually had some of my cooking and unless they were lying to me, they really enjoyed the meals.

I've wanted to get into this for a while, but the people I have talked to have said that you really need someone who already does it to show you the process or you could jam yourself up.

I've been playing ice hockey in the local beer leagues for almost 10 years now.

I still like RC cars, have one wasting away from not ever driving it though.

Before I met my fiance, I had a 4'X8' table decked out with HO scale race track, intertwined w/ HO scale train, replete w/ eletrically functional railroad crossings.

I used to play video games alot, but with the whole GF thing though....

All I really have time for outside the fiance and work, are my hockey games and practices....

Graphic design, photography (which I've sadly fallen out of doing since I lost access to my school's darkroom), art of most sorts. Video games, too, mostly of the action-adventure sort.

I'd like to start scuba-diving, but I don't have the green for it. I will start ham radio, at the least get my technician's license with morse and some basic equipment until I have a job.
