Had about 4100 miles on it  when I left, 4600 on return.

the as yet un-named Tahoe

Me,  in what are named "Goldfields" Wonder why, we had hoped to find more varied wildflowers but they haven't bloomed out yet.  Expecting rain again in the next few days, maybe in about 2 weeks, but this was the day both Ma Danby and I knew we could get away.

First one of these Ma Danby has ever seen.  Keep in mind this is within 125 air miles of where we started from.

And we fed at the "Far Western" if that helps on the guessing the location.  Also saw a family group of wild pigs, which would have been an easy take for pig hunters, unfortunately I was driving and Ma was napping and couldn't get the picture in time.  I'll mention where they were after we get a few guesses.

Damn!  What a great view!

Wouldn't be bad to have something little more than hills to look at around here.  I'm jealous

That's Mt. San Antonio aka Mt. Baldy.  A little over 10k feet in height.  Those views are known to cause accidents.  People are driving through downtown LA on the freeways and suddenly the MOUNTAINS are right there.  "Oh shit, where did those mountains come from?" crunch "Oh shit, where did that car come from?"

And yeah the Carrizo Plains.  They are about 100 miles from down town LA.
