I added a Bass tube. It helps the sound quality overall. I dont play that loud boom boom chest thumping crap though. If you want to enhance the overall sound of your vehicle I would recommend one.

I was simply trying to find something to round out my audio system. Have since found out the vehicle is fairly hard (well, for the novice, anyway) to set up an audio system in it without having subs and other stuff laying around in the back cargo area. Trying to keep the vehicle clear from any clutter. Thought the bass shakers might be an easy way (and easy on the eyes) to add some bass.

Nope, 'cause if I did and I pulled up behind myself at an intersection I would want to grab the 870 and blow my own brains out.

Sorry, just an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12" getting 400 watts  It's really hard to believe how much better metal sounds when you can feel the kick-drum as well as hear it.

The only "bass shaker" I have in my truck goes with the cast iron frying pan. A little Tony's lemon pepper, basil, shake that on a bass not bad.

a small 6" powered bazooka tube does a good job of rounding things out
its pretty small and its not ghetto boom boom I got one of those after i figured out that 3 12"s behind the seat of my reg cab truck was not cool anymore LINKY never tried the bas shaker thing but it seems like a gimmik IMO here a link to some cheap ones Bass shaker |

I bought a pair of them for the home theater but haven't installed them yet. I've got a nice SVS PB12-Ultra subwoofer which is good down below 16 Hz with a built-in 525 watt amplifier. My hair brained idea is to use a spare 250 Watt per channel amplifiers to drive the base shakers which I'll attach to the frame of my sofa and drive them from the subwoofer output. The SVS subwoofer can light-up the grand room pretty well but until I get a second one the bass shakers will help (at least that's the story I'm telling SWMBO).
