Getting ready to leave for the hospital to induce our third child.  Gonna be a girl this time unless somethings changed over the last month.  I'll let everyone know how it went when I get the chance, hopefully later this morning or afternoon.  Guess I'm going to have to order that next CMP M1 soon.....

She's here!  Madelyn Nichole!  She was born at 10:32, weighed 7lbs, 13oz, and was 20 1/2 inches long.  Momma pushed twice and she was out.  She's a trooper!  Now I'm going to get a woodless dane M1 from the CMP and have it rebarreled to .308 just for her.  Her brothers already have M1's of their own.

Dunno, she might be a little young for a full sized Garand.

Thanks, all.  We're home now and momma and Madelyn are doing great!  Her big brothers are both proud of her and were very ready for her to come home.  The dog's not sure yet, but she'll get used to it.  Thanks again for the congrats!

WOW - cool photo! How did you get the baby and the severed head to float in the air like that?

;o)

It was the two hands below her.  Didn't you see them?  The head has an anti-gravity collar at the base.  You may not be able to see it at this angle.

Congrats!!!!

I also got CMP Garands for my boys but I got AR-15s for my girls.  Is that sexist?

Congratulations!  Some very good friends of mine are expecting their first child in the next couple of hours.  As a father, does it get any easier with subsequent children?

In a way it's easier.  You know what to expect after the first, but they are all different.  Each will have different sleeping and eating patterns, peeing and pooping, and crying.  How you take care of them is pretty much the same but the timetable can be totally different.  Still, after the first, it's easier overall.  It becomes old hat with a new twist every now and then.

I looked at one of those Cricket single shot .22's today but the shop owner wanted $159 for it.  That's a bit steep for that rifle.  I'll get her the M1 and then probably a .22 of some type.  I'll take her to the range when she's 3-4 years old.  My 4 year old son like to go so now I have to work on the 1 year old before I can get Mattie out there.  2 days old just isn't quite old enough yet.
