I have a Savage 110 in 7mm mag, I plan to convert it to .308 by buying a replacement barrel. I am away from my rifles right now, and wanted to see if any one of us has the same rifle.

My question is will my 7mm bolt be interchangeable to the 308 case? I wanted to go ahead and order the barrel, but do not want to if I can not use the same bolt.

I am rebarreling because I got the rifle for 175$$ and it is far cheaper to convert than buy new.

You can get the correct bolt head from midway for less than $20.  Buy  a spare ejector, it's retainer pin, extractor, the extractor ball and both of their springs while you are at it.  Just a few dollars.  You have the long action.  You should probably get the correct mag box and follower also.  Midway has the A&B heavy bbls on sale and you get a free bbl nut wrench.

Here's some gun porn. Used to be a 30-06 sporter. Now it's a 223 target gun.

Go to the midway site and look under gun parts.
