This hearing is on C-SPAN2 right now, Thu. Mar 2, 2006 @ 8:45 pm EST.........I do not live in a Southwest Border state, but there are several Sheriffs from TX, NM, and AZ talking about how much crime and bullshit is going on down there.....who lives in the Southwest and can attest to what I'm hearing firsthand?......It sounds to me like we need our OWN military patrolling the border, because it is TOO LARGE of a task for the Border Patrol agents alone......comments?

From what these Sheriffs are saying, we are  basically being invaded by heavily armed men dressed in BDUs with automatic weapons...........WTF, is going on in the Southwest?

There's been several people to post on ARFCOM about the situation........never the less its bad and could get extremely ugly at any given minute.

Smuggling is big business for the Mexicans. They have recruited elements of the Mexican army to assure the smugglers operations are not compromised by ICE. This includes shooting at ICE agents from across the border. Smugglers steal SUVs from the US, load them up with drugs or illegal aliens and head north across the border. People who live near the border in rural areas are afraid to go out after sundown because they will be assaulted or shot by the smugglers or hordes of illegals.

WOW, Never thought it was that bad... I think they should meet the Apache..... Anyone Illegally triing to gain access to the USA should be thought as a possible terrorist or enemy combatant.... IMHO... And anyone that employs them should do a mandatory 5 years in prison, and pay $50,000 fine per offense.
Example...
Roofer employs 5 Illegals would get:
--25 years imprisonment
--$250,000 Fine

Hotel Employs 50 Illegals all management would recieve
----Life (250 Years)
----$2,500,000 Fine (As well as the Company must pay)

No jobs for Illegals..... Less Illegals....
