ok, Imbroglio, I get the point. I'm not familiar with this case and I thought I was up on what's going on in CA litigation-wise. The defendant is Gray Davis. Who's the plaintiff and what court made this ruling? Even more important, is it going to be appealed?

I assume this ruling came down before Ashcroft made his statement about individuals right to keep& bear arms?
you had to know this was coming. as the supreme court still as not yet ruled on the 2nd & how it pertains to a individual's rights [:(!][:(!] |

Who is Gary Davis? What is the nature of the case? What court is this from and who is the judge? |

Ah, ok I see it, defendant Gray Davis' "motion to dismiss."
Gray Davis is the governor of CA. I still don't know who the plaintiff is but I think this lawsuit was filed by the NRA, re: SB23. This is old news. |

Here is more old news.
The CT State Constitution Article 1, Section 15 states, "Every man has the right to keep and bear arms in defense of himself and the state." This sounds like a clearly defined basic right but....... ......on June 30, 1994 Judge Draginis at Litchfield Superior Court ruled that this right was not absolute, and could be "reasonably regulated under the state's police power." |
