Being a glock fiend, i'm very curious...
any chance of some pics with the slide off? |
What do you need with a gun like that??
Just kidding, nice piece. |
Is that a five inch barrel???????? Have they arrived??? This is truly a great day.
yea it's gonna be the house gun. the z5 works fine for that. so far the replacement they sent has been perfect. even under recoil on my xd9. |
Thnx for the pics!
Looks like it's striker fired...guess they tweaked it a little to get around the Glock patents. I love those 45 tupperwares... |
i've never like the 40. always seemed like an answer that no one knows the question to. 9mm for plinking. 45 for anything that counts. |
me too. lets riot and burn down an embassy |

Hey now, start a Jihad on your own time. |

Range report! Range Report! I think I need one, but I want to know about accuracy, reliability and durability! With pics!
thats ok i can't shoot glocks for shit |
Congrats man! I like my XD answer no one knows the question to.
I went to the funshop seeking the .45, but the ".40nswer" just fit my hand better so i bought it. It's a great gun for me so far. Enjoy! Edit: spelling. |
That grip looks like a chunk of 2x4. Maybe it's just the pics. I can't see liking it, but to each his own! Congrats on getting a cool new toy!
i put it side by side with my 9mm xd last night. other than being a bit longer i can't tell it's any bigger. fits my hand like a glove. |
I have a XD40 and XD45 both service models. These little gems really rearranged my thinking on polymer pistols.Up until these I was die hard 1911 owner.
i know, help me |

Sig worthy material right there... |

took it to the range today and have to admit i am REALLY happy with this gun.
started with WWB 230gr. gun was very controllable and i had no problem knocking down 6" steel plates at 25 yards. it shot about 2-3" low for me but no big surplise my 9mm dies the same with me. after 100 rounds i moved to hand loads of different weights and velocities. the gun seems to prefer heavier hotter loads. accuracy began to open up with 185gr target loads. i wasn't going for groups but it was obvious the accuracy was suffering. the next test was mixed mags of varying rounds. mags were stacked randomly with 230gr wwb, aguila hi-q, speer gold dots, lead rnfp target loads. after 5 mags, no failures. i did notice double taps are a bit tricky. i am used to my 1911's and was having difficulty allowing my finger to move out enough to reset the trigger. this is more a me than a gun problem. the trigger reset is a bit longer than i am used to. training should fix this. All in all i am well pleased with the gun. the only failure i was able to induce was 1 stovepipe. light loaded target ammo with a limpwrist. <done on purpose> it ran 13 of 14 rounds with this test. most guns i have tried this with fail on each round. on a side note the z5 light actually held up well. i turned the light on and left it on for the whole 40 min i was hooting and reloading. zero issues with the light at all. Very surprised given the construction of this light. I think SA has a winner with this gun. it's a bit heavy for CCW for me but for a duty or home defense gun it's really going to be hard to beat for the price. mike |

+1 Nice Pistola ! |

Great...now I have to go get on too! Thanks a bunch. |

How does limpwritst affect a semi auto? Could it cause FTF? |
semi auto's rely on the stability of your grip and the effects of recoil to allow the slide to move rearward and cycle the gun. a weak grip reduces the effectivness of recoil to cycle the slide. This is an issue with ALL semi auto pistols. |

maybe we should start an XD addiction support group |
That grip is awesome...IMO as good if not better than a Block..er..Glock.. I almost bought one last weekend at a gunshow. |
yeah i read your range report. but the real test is the thug grip(holding the pistol sideways)
report back i've wanted one since i first saw them avail. 3 Xd's is enough for me right now though |
WHEN I get my XD45 it'll make 3 XD's in the safe. When I got my XD9 Tactical it came with a poster saying that there are 60 different models. I took it as a challenge! |

gansta was fine. went 12 for 12 on the plates sideways looking down the slide. then again i seem to shoot plates better like that with my 1911's also. i don't really know why. |

I've been thinking about getting one of these too. There is a Factory shoot at the local fun shop this weekend and Springfield will be there. They usually have show specials. If so, I can't be held responsible for any impulsive purchases.
ETA: Hopefully they'll have a range gun to play with. |

Let us know
(Before the flame commences, that comment has nothing to do with SA [whose products I tend to like] and everything to do with the TBS's apparent knack for being on the outer edge of the bell curve re: having firearms blow up on him. ) |
Don't do that. I'm addicted to support groups. I'd have to go buy an XD just to join your group. Wait...... CO |

I love my XD in 9mm...i've really been looking at the .45 model
The springfield LE guy at shot said that a sub-xd45 is in the works. Oh, I think i just moisted myself...

So what exactly makes it different than a Glock?
I don't know anything about these, but they look exactly like a glock frame with a different slide on it. |
very close to a glock in terms of striker fired and function. But a few improvments. addition of grip safety correct grip angle better grip better stock trigger IMHO this is what glocks should have evolved into. |
When they were first imported as the HS2000 before Springfield licensed them, there was a group buy of them at Glocktalk for something like 300 units, at a great price too. Still kicking myself for missing out.
