I have this knife and want to attach it to my lower leg.  I originally tried this using just two pieces of paracord tied around my leg but that didn’t seem to work too well.  I was wondering if anyone knows the way they are really supposed to be attached

Thanks in advance

It is meant to be attached to your belt, or the the attachment on an aircrew survival belt. You could try some elastic bands but I wouldn't count on them being very secure.

Brigade Quartermaster used to have some kind of harness for strapping a knife to the lower leg.

I'm watching Band of Brothers again and it looks like thats what they did in WWII...don't know how accurate the show is but would assume fairly.

ETA: now it dosen't look like they did that....looks like its a special sheath

Actually sticking a knife in the top of your boot isn't that great. It isn't comfortable and keeps you from being able to lace your boot tight.

Attatching it to the outside of a boot works better. Strapping it around your calf makes it much easier to reach.

Mine had a nice resting place inside my LPA.  It was right next to the pencil flares, shark repellant, dye marker, 45 holster and the shroud cutter.

If I had to bail, then after I landed,  it would have been on the outside of my flight suit.

If I was to have one as a civilian, then those all important belt loops and my belt  is where it would be.
