My girlfriend has one of those trainwreck friends just like everyone elses gf/wives do. This woman was sharing an apt with a ROP guy. There was no romantic involvement at all. She met the ROP guy in college and they worked in similar fields (computers) and got a place together out of financial convenience. It worked out well for her because he was never there, only came around 2-3x a month and he said he was either staying at his office or with friends. After about a year, he stopped coming around all together and stopped paying his half of the rent. After having to pay the whole rent for a little while, she tries to contact the guy about not paying and to give her the money he owes her for footing his half of the bill. He says he wants her to come meet him at some other place so they can talk about this.

She walks into his place and the conversation goes something like this:

ROPGUY "Don't step on that rug"
Trainwreck "why?"
ROPGUY "cuz I pray on that rug"
Trainwreck "If its so important to you and you don't want ppl to step on it, why do you leave it on the floor?"
ROPGUY /angry/ "its sacred and it faces Mecca!"
Trainwreck "it looks like any other rug to me, you shouldn't leave it on the floor then"
ROPGUY /irate/ "you stupid b!tch!"

At this point he grabs both her wrists very hard and he had something in his hand, possibly keys, He left about a 1 inch laceration in her palm and she starts bleeding all over the place. He sees the blood and runs out of the place. She calls the cops from his place and they come over there and she files charges and gets a restraining order. She then comes to see me at the hospital (I'm a nurse) and we get her cleaned up, it probably could have used stitches, but by the time she got done there with the cops, it really had been too late and would have done more harm than good to stitch it up.

So thats her account of what happened, I only posted it cuz I though the whole rug thing was kind of funny.

Good to hear that she at least had the presence of mind to file  charges.  In NY it sounds like assault 3rd at least (A misdemeanor), and probably assault 2nd (D Felony) due to the use of a dangerous instrument (the key or whatever cut her).

burn it, piss on it, and leave it on the hood of his car. Spraypaint "Fuck you and your rug" on the car, piss on the driver's seat, take a shit and leave it in one of the airvents, oh yeah and be sure to leave a little sticky note that says "your welcome."

Call him up the day after and ask him to pay for the gas you used to burn the rug. Gas is outrageous these days!

I  don't know what exactly a "ROP" is, but from the description of the incident, I get a pretty good idea......that being said......I think she should forgo the restraining order and just issue a Fatwa, calling for his destruction.....
