ok guys heres the deal Im tossing around the idea of building a sweet sniper rifel (not with the AR)
1) money for the build is not a issue 2) but i would like to do it in .22 cal so i can shoot all day (not something thats going to be a dollar a bullet .50) plus i think a 22 will always be a more challenging round for practice 3) i like the adjustable face and but plate of the SSG 3000 (yeah and it has a 22 conversion  as well as still could be practicle if i deicided to use it to hunt) (anyone got any places that have this in stock with a price listed online? as well as the conversion?) 4) I like the look of the polystocks verse the wooden/ multi color wooden 5) list optics and any other mods you would do to it |

10/22 with Volquartsen and Green Mountain parts. 3-9x32 scope or 4x fixed. It's killed many squirrels.

What kind of accuracy are you looking for? My son can hit stationary clay pigeons at 200 yds with my Glenfield and a 4X scope. Killing power is a different story.

For a super accurate rim fire I would go with a .17HMR instead. Get a savage 93 with the accutriger. About 200 bucks and you can drive tacks with it all day....
And the ammo isn't insane |

accuracy.... first and then if theres a conversion like I was saying with the ssg thats would be a nice option for stoping power for the hunting option(max 200yds or so in the thick woods around here) but the max distance im really going to ever be able to shoot at is 300yds with the 22 for now some comp are 500yds but i really dont think ill get into that.

yeah i would consider the HMR 177 as well just knew ammo was slightly more exp but not an issue at this point
I may repost this thread in the 22 amory as well |

if you are wanting to drive a .22 caliber projectile to 500 yards then you need a .223, .223wssm, .22-250, or .220 swift. or any other centerfire .22 bigger than the .22 hornet
