Fixed it for you. I'm a tool and die maker with 15 years in the trade and I am less qualified to put screws in door panels than an innercity welfare skank in GM's opinion. Dave |

Off the street? I really cant see that. With all of the plant closings and layoffs I would imagine they open those spots to transfers from other plants. In my plant (Chrysler) we have not hired an electrician since the beginning of 2000. We have over 300. Same for other trades. With all of the downsizing people with 5-10 years of seniority are hanging on by their fingertips to thier jobs. I know apprentices who topped out several years ago in machine repair that are out on the street and will be for years if not forever. I dont see the big 3 hiring off the street for any real numbers for years. |
