The boss has a Ppsh41. Nice subgun to fire when the happy switch is in the right place.

Yeah, its that good. Factory ammo is around 1500 FPS. Some manufacturers claim around 2000 FPS on some of their loads. You can also buy a .22 Reed Express conversion which is a necked down 7.62 to accept a .22 caliber bullet. They claim around 2500-2700 FPS depending on bullet type and barrel length. You can check it out here
We're talking AR15 velocities out of a pistol.........

I've also heard if you tune them you can shoot clays at 100 yards all day. Now you get to add carbine accuracy to your AR15 velocity......

Last time I checked velocity of a 55 grain round out of a 20" AR is around 3300 FPS and about 3150 out of a 16" carbine barrel. That's significantly faster than 2500 - 2700 of a necked down 7.62x25. Carbine accuracy is 100 yards? I don't know about your AR carbine, but with military ammo I can hit a sihloutte target at 500 yards every time with my 16" AR carbine. That's a long way from 100 yards.

I'm a fan of the CZ-52 and the 7.62x25 round too, but I think your AR comparison is a BIG stretch.

Ok, honestly I wouldnt say its the best pistol round ever either. But it is a damn good pistol round, and I think if we had a current production firearm for 7.62x25mm with current ammo loads, it would definately be at least one of the best pistol rounds on the market.

+1 on a modern pistol chambered in 7.62x25 & good hollowpoint/softpoint ammo.

A double stack (~15 rnd mag) double action would be nice. Something like a Cz75 or even a Glock.
A 7.62x25 1911 should be easy. Custom barrel, 9x23 slide & mag.
Heck, even a newly made Tokarev would kick ass. They'd need a safety & thumbrest grips (stupid "sporting purposes" import rules) but I'm sure Poland/Hungary/Romania could use the $$$$. If the Chinese import ban ever goes away.........

A semiauto Cz24 or Cz26 carbine like the semi Uzi carbines would kick ass, not to mention a good semi PPSh41.

It will actually go through most IIIA vests. In SE Asia, where the round is fairly common, there is a special protection level to stop the 7.62 X 25

My primary HD weapon is a CZ-52 loaded with JHPs. Its accurate, reliable, and can penetrate body armor. My loadout is actually 3 rounds of JHP, followed by 7 rounds of FMJs. The FMJs penetrate a bit TOO much, but woudl be damn nice to have if they are wearing armor :)

Good luck finding a CZ-52. They've dried up quite a bit. I would LOVE to get a current pistol in a 7.62x25mm. I've actually thought of seeing if i couldnt have one custom made on a 1911 or Sig frame, but that would be pricey I think.

I talked to some guys over on the tech boards, a few have custom 7.62x25 uppers for their ARs, now that would be freaking sweet.

ETA:

Also, with how the slide/barrel assembly just clips onto the frame, I've always thought that a sorta slap-on carbine upper could be made for the CZ-52 frame, then weld together some 16 round mags. If I were more apt at machining I'd attempt such a project.
