Playing in the .25/.50 $25 buy in games with real money (first time I played with anything other than play money!).

Eight folks at the table, I drew A J hearts with:

Flop:   Qc Kh Th  (I bet big, having a really strong straight at that point)

Turn:   Qh (BAM!  I hit the royal flush... )

River:  Js

One guy had an ace high straight, with another suit of ace. -- he went all in at the river and was immediately joined by another guy:

Who pulled out a boat, holding Qd Kd -- also went all in...

I slowplayed at the turn, and went all in with my $80 when I joined these all in at at the River.

Two other guys went all in on their brand new $25 buy ins with a set of queens and pocket 9s, IIRC.

It was a very profitable hand.

I wound up ahead more than $350 ahead all the sudden...

... and then lost more than half of the fucking thing on a bad beat a few hands with a guy who drew a four of a kind to my Full house.

This guy had no business in the hand... I flopped the BOAT, but he didn't get his two matching cards to his pocket 4s until the turn and river.   (weird board by the way:   8 A 8 4 4 - I was playing the deadman's hand in the hold As 8s).

Nice

I hit a royal flush in real life at a bar one night.

It doesnt really count though, it was a "2nd Chance table" and we were just messing around.  I went all-in, blind, for 800 and a buddy of mine did too.

On the flop was A of Club, 10 of Club and a 4.  Then, the K of Club came out.  Then the J of Club came out.  I was like, holy crap, someone has a flush......
I flip over my first card, its a 3.....I was like, jesus god.
Then I flip over my next one, and it was the Queen of Clubs and I was like, wooooo I got a straight!  Then I looked at it more and was like   ROYAL FLUSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
They heard me 4 tables down (30 feet in a crowded bar).

And then a few nights later, I had 2 4 of a kinds and a straight flush.

On the first 4 of a kind, this one guy kept on just betting to scare everyone off and I had pocket 8's so I bet up in the beginning cuz I knew he'd call.  So I bet like 8,000 and he calls.  Then comes out K88 on the flop.  I could hardly contain myself.  I checked cuz I knew he'd bet big, he did so I reraised him double.  He called.  Then like a 4 came out and same thing happened but I went all in at like 17,000 and he didnt call but 2 others did.  So I start raking my like 125k in chips in and start stacking them and the 7 people at the table are looking at me like I'm crazy.  Then something else comes on the River and they flip over cards and whatnot and one guy had a K and shit.
So, without even looking up or stop counting my chips, I nonchalantly throw my 8's over and say "4 of a kind" and had a huge grin on my face.

Best thing was, my dad had just taken over as dealer the hand before that hand cuz he lost.

Not a royal flush, but definitly a fun hand:

Playing 5 card draw, went up against my buddy while the rest of the table folded.

He was drawing one to make full house, I drew 5 just to be an ass.

He drew his full house and went in half his cash.  I pushed him in the rest of the way and he had a big shit eating grin on his face saying there is no way you could beat me.

Funny when I laid down the 4 Aces with a King kicker his face turned blue.

Don't get me started on the time I got the sucker straight flush.  Board was 5d 6d 7d 8d.  I had the 4d, lady across the table had a 9d, went all in and I called.  My spidy sense even told me she had the 9d, but I just couldn't put a straight-flush down.

But on the plus side I had her covered, and actually outlasted her in the game, eventually placing second out of about ten.

My buddy has lost TWICE on a Straight Flush 9-K high, to a royal flush both times.  10-K was on board, he had 9 and other person had the Ace......each time.  Needless to say, he was fucking pissed.
One of the times was at the huge poker tournament to get a buyin at the World Poker Tour in Vegas, it was put on by Chris Moneymaker in Wichita, KS.  I got like 11xxth out of 2500.  My dad ended up getting like 121st and they kept the top 110 out of each day.

A week after Christmas, an acquaintance of mine hit a royal straight flush at one of the casino boats playing Carribean Stud Poker and won $143,000.00.  Took home a little over $90K after taxes.

No screen shot?!

Big hands always come on small pots...

I hit four 8's in a live hold-em game one time. The other pair showed up in the flop and I slow played it and let this guy bet for me until the river where I went all in. The look on his face when I showed him the pair in my hands was priceless.

I was playing at the bar a while ago, and I had pocket kings, so I decided I'd put a monster bet to protect my hand, so I called "All In".  Everyone at the table folds except one guy who calls.  We flipped up our cards, and I had KK against is JJ.  Flop came JJ8, and I had just about walked away, then the turn was K and the river was the final K.  That guy was pissed that I sucked out a higher four of a kind, but hey that's poker.

That's unheard of.  The odds of that happening are slim to none.  It's nice to see that the best "pre-flop" hand held up

+1.  You had the top hand going in so that guy can STFU.
off-topic:  I think it's hilarious when guys get beat, then pissed that the winner didn't do what he was "supposed" to do (like fold).

I hit one about 2 months playing $.25/50. All I had was the Queen of clubs. Can't believe no one would even play and ended up winning $5

Yeah, funny thing at my game is that it is always the most aggressive guys who get pissed.  You start betting at every pot and at some point I'm going to start calling you.

Thing is I'm normally an extremely tight player till my table image takes hold, then I loosen up a bit till I start getting called more often and then I tighten up abit, with a bluff or two thrown in.
