Dozens of stolen guns missing
 posted: 01-25-2006

Four employees of a gun distributor in Shreveport have been arrested on charges of stealing 90 handguns and selling them on the streets.

Law enforcement authorities said today that only five of the guns have been recovered.

The missing guns are 47 Springfield 9mm pistols and 38 Charles Daly 9mm pistols.

Caddo sheriff's investigators said the guns were taken from the firearms wholesaler's warehouse a few at a time between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The theft was discovered after two pistols seized during a traffic stop in Bienville Parish this week were traced back to the gun dealer.

Federal agents and police in Shreveport and Bossier City joined the investigation and found three more. One had been pawned and two more had been seized by Shreveport police for having the serial numbers obliterated.

Warehouse employees Dexter Ford and John Simmons of Shreveport, Robert Ray of Keithville and Charles Delaney of Bossier City were booked Tuesday on charges of theft of firearms.

Two other men -- Demario Mitchell and Gregory Schafer, both of Shreveport -- were arrested earlier on charges of possession of a stolen firearm.

Sheriff's deputies are asking anyone who bought one of the stolen weapons to turn them in. No questions will be asked, they said.

The stolen weapons are worth an estimated $36,000, investigators said.

How much you wanna bet these assholes get off with a simple slap on the wrist or simple theft charges only?

Then the lefties can continue to scream about the "proliferation" of guns, and try to screw over the law-abiding for the actions of assholes like these rejects.

I hope not.  But lawyers love the plead bargains.  So anything is possible.

it's the guns' fault.  if those evil guns weren't in the warehouse, they couldn't have been stolen and sold on the street.  now those evil guns are running around killing children.  the theives are just more victoms of the evil guns.

Maybe they were the ones doing it.... I wouldn't be surprised really - They've done this kind of thing before.
