Heh, a bunch of non-socials...

I dont mind if ppl watch me or talk to me as long as they are not shooting at me. If I noticed someone watching me I would offer them a free mag through anything they wanted to shoot of mine.

Start quietly muttering to yourself and mix in ALOT of bad words... then glance over at them occassionally during this tyrate. Load mags while staring at them, with a twisted evil grin on your face.

I have met a lot of nice people at the range. Bama they are probably just amazed by your weapon prowess and over all ninja like abilities.

I love it

I love to see their jaws hit the floor.

Especialy when I bring in the ARs and the AKs and the Saiga 12C shotgun

People at the range don't bother me a bit. I've met some really cool folks at the range! If they wanna shoot my gunz....that's cool.

I can't imagine why anybody would be unsociable at a shooting range. We're all shooters!bb

I shoot at a sand pit and there is no one there. When I go to a range it is usually cold and/or wet and no one else is there either.

I don't mind in the least. I love the "taint then illeeegal" question, you just wink and say "well, if I was a regular citizen they would be". I can only keep that up for about 5 minutes before I laugh and tell them yes they are.

Besides, the more people who buy "AWs" the more people we have on our side. Best one was a 75 year old guy who showed up all the way from Ohio with a nice Colt AR, chatted with him a bit and he said that the AR was the first rifle he could shoot in about 10 years as he had numerous shoulder problems. He just wished he had not waited so long or been so preconcieved against them when younger.

I'm usually too busy looking good to notice anyone watching.

Most people just stand in awe, watching a true master with a gun. It's a rare experience for most.

I belong to a private club and I know most of the
people that actually use the range . If they are
watching me , it's only to see what the hell I bought
this week .

It's actually worse then this place for promoting
my weakness for weapons . Here I only get to see
pictures . At the range I get to handle and shoot
new stuff . Or let them try what I'm using

I don't mind, I just hope they aren't taking any pointers from my form or anything lest I be doing something incorrectly. If they are close enough I'll offer to let them shoot my stuff.

I recall one day practising away, and my coach (Competition shooting) came over and just stood a few feet away in my field of vision.

"As you get good, you'll have to get used to people watching you, taking in your form"

He was right. I tended not to have too much problem with being bothered by others. On the other hand, when I placed my Loch Ness Monster at the firing point, there was a lass who was driven spare by her. Every time she reloaded, she'd see this little green monster with a great big happy smile...

I don't mind at all.

Most of the time, when i look over at them, they ask:

"Are you on a SWAT team?" "No."
"Are you in the military?" "No."

Then they say, "I thought those were illegal." My immediate reply is, "here, would you like to shoot a mag?"

They say... "no, that's OK." I always reply.. "it's ok, i loaded this mag right here for you... i always bring extras."

Then they shoot.... LOVE IT... then proclaim..."I have GOT to buy one of these..... how did you get it?"...... I just reply, "local gun shop, they can help you."

It is all about CONVERTING them... not ANGERING or fighting with them.

But then there was this one time... there was this 5 foot 10, half asian, half american women... looking JUST like Kiana Tom.... blasting away with a springfield armory LONG SLIDE 45.

I don't mind. I took my SEBR to the range the other day and there were some boy scouts admiring it so I let them put a mag through it. I think I made their day.

I'm all about being social at the range...during cease fires, and then if continuing maybe try each other's firearms if something you are interested in or would like to shoot.

Never know who you'll meet, or what you could learn...buit there's a process (IMO), watching someone shoot can be informative for the watcher or the shooter...but never interupt someone at the line.

one exception...if it's a safety issue.

It don't bother me as long as they don't make alot of noise. There is usually someone else shooting at the range where I go. I'm kinda use to it.

Not at all. In fact, in between strings I usually walk down the line and look at other people just to see who's shooting what. The only reason I go to the public range is to be around other shooters. I have a 200 yard benchrest range in my backyard.

they looking at yer ass or your purty lips? When I'm facing a dillema, I take a poll. If nine out of the ten people in your head tell you to switch ranges, then there's your answer.

seems like every range has an old codger like that, they approve of old surplus rifles but look down on modern military style rifles like AR's, AK's FAL's, etc

In my experience it is 50/50 when it comes to EBRs.
50%: Ain't dem der illegal?
50%: Hey man...that's a sweet rifle.

The old guy I helped was in his 70's. He likes black rifles.

I've got to shoot all kinds of guns by simply socializing and offering up my hardware and ammo to a stranger in exchange for the same.
