With my busy schedule and no place to shoot, I would have say around 5.
When I was firing rounds so fast through an MG-3 that both barrels were practically glowing, I wasn't taking the time to count them individually. I think my answer will have to be "a lot" |
I have burned up LOTS of ammo in M16s, M60s and M2s in my time in the Army, but in addition to that I own several AKs and 2 ARs and I live a stones throw away from the rifle range. So I would have to guess that I have shot well in excess of 100,000 rounds.
From the time I was old enough to drag a gun around our farm.
Hmmm.....I don't know. A lot. It is easy to shoot 100 or 200 rounds. I have done that at least 1000 times, probably alot more than that. I don't see how anyone over 40, who has been shooting all their life could have any clue. |
I have probably shot that many .22 shells in one month before. |
A rough guess would be 100,000+ ? I'm still in my thirtys and never been in the military. And I dont get out a lot to shoot.
Even trying to guestimate that makes my head hurt.
I will just say 42, cause thats how Deep Thought would answer. |
I know I have come close to that before too. There was one semester when I was still living at home, and I went to the range two days a week with my buckmark. I tore it up with that thing. A lot of guys would laugh until they saw the ragged hole in the middle of my target out twice the distacne of theirs. Those were fun times. |

total I have no idea but it's allot. with rifles and pistols maybe 20,000+
if you want to count the SAW, M240G, M60, M2, and MK19 then allot, a whoooolllle lot when I was in Cuba we used to burn through old security rounds every Wed. for about 8+ hours, I don't care who you are, nobody likes shooting that much |
No, it's just that no one likes to pick up that much brass. |
When my buddy was in the service he would regularly shoot over 1000 rounds of 00 buck in one session. He said his shoulder would hurt like a bitch for the next few days. But thats how he got so good with a shotgun.
That beats the shit out of anything I have ever done. I bet the last 100 rounds fooking sucked. |

I'm over 40--and I have absolutely NO clue. I have one Beretta 92 I have put over 30,000 rounds through (was half way counting, as I had begun reloading). When in HS we had "Open Campus"--meaning we could leave during study halls and lunch period. I left nearly every day to either fish or shoot in a nearby gravel pit. I was started shooting at age 5 by my father--I still have never owned a BB gun, but I've done a butt load of shooting. He gave me my first .22 at age 12 and I bought my own "deer rifle" (Rem. 742 in .30/06) at age 14--with paper route money. I bought a Win. 1300 at age 15 with money I earned painting a house. As soon as I was old enough I bought a S&W Model 19--when they were VERY hard to find. All have been shot a bunch (except the 19--sold it to a buddy). I have bought steadily since then--including reloading equipment and a BUNCH of reloading supplies. Having an FFL helps keep costs down. |

Recoilless with a bee hive round ? |
This question is like asking someone how many shits theyve dropped in their lifetime...
Not enough. I dont have enough money to go shooting all the time, yet.
I probably havent yet broken the 1k mark, but I'm probably near it. |
Shit! I would say with all of the military and civilian shooting combined 100,000+.
I can’t say.
Shotguns, rifles, pistols, MGs… A bunch. I can say that there’s been maybe a hundred times in my life where I’ve shot more than a thousand rounds in one day. Literally thousands of times where I’ve gone through a couple a hundred rounds just goofing off at the range. Then add in several thousand more times where I just plinked a mag or two and then got bored. Then add in the dove/pheasant/deer/rabbit/coyote/prairie dog/ etc A bunch. |
Prior to my purchasing my M16 I'd say I had less than 10,000 rounds under my belt. But once you buy a machinegun, the ammo count really gets out of control. I have to be in the hundreds of thousands now.
Well, seeing as how my weapon at work shoots 4000 rounds a minute on high rate I'd say.... A LOT! A fellow gunner and I went down to Dillon Aero and shot 35,000 rounds in one flight between the two of us this summer. THAT was a good time!

You win... I watched a minigun eat 2500 rounds once... Took no damn time at all. I can see a good day at Dillon's going through 35k easy |
Somewhere over 100,000 . Hell, i've shot over 100k of 22 alone.

Nowhere near enough. I bet I would be really bummed to see an actual number.
Hard to say...each of my three boys were able to shoot over 25k round each before they were twelve...I was shooting along side them, too. Use to buya firearm, shoot 500 to 1000 rounds and then trade it or sell it and get another...had about 200... then there were sub guns...1000 rounds each time I go out...
I am sure I could have bought a really nice car for the price of the ammo But then, who else is replenishing the earth with the natural resources like shooters do? We environmentalists are concerned about the losses from our earth and we want to put it all back the best we can... Plus, cultivating the earth's hillsides helps the seeds to germinate... |
Aprox.. 12,500 As to the ammo question, gotta be in the hundreds of thousands,.. easily over 100-200k in .22lr alone.............udog |
My goal is 1 per minute I've been born. I'm way behind and I need a mini-gun to catch up.
