when i first started poking around the internet years ago and found the ar15.com mailing list and website, he was one of the people that stuck out. it was amazing to see someone who knew so much always share it so freely. |
You don't even know him. Crawl back under your rock attention whore troll.
free him - he's a good guy.
don't know him, but i always read his posts with interest. |
It is. It's terrible. I hope for the best for him and his family. I just don't get why the troll is posting this thread in GD. |
just damn, i'm speechless
so what does 4 years equal in real time. |
From a guy with almost 5k posts that is not a Team Member Many people might not be aware of the Situation. Tweak has pretty much run the Troubleshooting and Maintainence topics. He is a wealth of AR-15 Knowledge. Just wanted to inform the masses. |
I don't know Tweak personally and my interactions with him on the site were limited but he was a nice guy. I sent his family an e-mail note. He has family that are members here.
Not only is Tweak a resource but a good friend. He has troubleshot my rifle online...and he has troubleshot my rifle in my driveway. He will be missed.
Many questions. More than answers.
I read the entire thread. What happened in the first place? Pretty damn sketchy. Who called the cops? I can guess. What happened at that point? I can guess. Sentenced to 4 years? But sentencing isn't until next week? Court appointed attorney? Might as well defend yourself. No one even looked into the medication he was taking? Even though she knows a pharmacist? What about his doc who prescribed it? And what is the med? Don't expect to hear that on ARFCOM though. Plead guilty? Man, there is some real bullshit going on here. I ain't calling BS on the whole story for sure but something is not right here. |
not to be a dick but the whole thing seems real odd to me too I do realize med reactions can be severe but around here you would have to beat someone to death to get 4 years even wioth a shitty court appointed atty |
Bad situation all around.
Tweak always was ready to help people in the Troublshooting forum. |
I didn't know him but my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. so sad.
And yet one more example of how easy it is to lose one's gun rights unjustifiably. Hope I'm not out of bounds with that comment, but if only more people knew how easy it is.... |
If he does end up with the projected 4 year sentence (which is likely) 3 years of which is a firearms enhancement, is mandatory full service. |
Die-hard Second Amendment absolutionists like myself and many (?most) people on this site will say that if someone is 'safe' enough to be let out, they should have all their rights restored. So, no, your comment is not out of line. Unfortunately, he is going to lose his RKBA. |

Not to get in the way of the Free Tweak hug fest but ....
He should have got a real lawyer and drug it out . He should not of plead guilty until all the cards have been played. He probably could have plea bargained the mand sentance charges to a lesser charge and got by with probation or a couple of months in jail. |
I have to agree. Something is missing from the story. This part really intrigues me:
I don't understand this at all. Anyone clarify? |
BS,why did he not mention this to us? We all know that he is the go to guy when your AR doesn not work. I hope the best for him.
Troll or not I glad this got posted...Tweak is a Pink Pistol and has always been a good guy. I hope that somehow this can get straighten out...4 years holy crap.
I know this is a stupid question....but can he change his plea?...if so I would be up to donate money for a good lawyer. |
Save the fucking speculation for the liberal media. |
I'm no lawyer or legal scholar, but doesn't the 5th cover spouses as well? |
Not hitched, My guess is the State will play the statement of the child against the Mom and TWEAK..Risk of the State saying Mom is unfit, and threat made to take the kid for his protection. Just my guess, Im not sure of the whole story, and only wish the best for everyone in this mess. |

WTF???? Tweak has always an invaluable asset to ARF tech. disscusion. After reading 9millie's somewhat vague post, I really can't help but wonder what actually transpired. |
I'm an asshole. I fully admit that.
What's the full and unabridged real story. Until that comes out, nobody really knows if he's deserving of a pity party. |
Damn.....another outstanding ARFCOM stalwart gone. He really knew his stuff....
ANdy |
My comment for the speculators is just that some things are not for us to know or dwell on, we can only hope and pray for his safety and for his family.
This is the first I heard of it.
I don't know him well enough to say we're friends, but his posts that I've seen were solid. Nothing to suggest he was less than a stand-up guy. ALL drugs have side-effects. The reactions can vary widely from one person to the next. This should have been pursued by the attorney. Prayers inbound for Tweak and his family members. |
Good luck to him.
I have to agree, sounds like much is missing. |
I can only speak from what I've seen of him here.
I hope that he did not do anything really terrible, and I wish him well. |
X2 and...
X2. |

I am saddened by the news. I pray that the Tweak and his family stay strong in this very difficult and trying time. |
I understood it to mean that Tweak did not contest the charges against him anymore and just pleaded guilty. This way, there will no longer be a trial and his family will no longer have to testify in court "against" him. Court appearances are oftentimes adversarial and traumatic. It would seem that Tweak wanted to spare his family from this. IMO |
That's a shame.
The laws on domestic violence in many States are pretty rigid. It'll be tough for him to own any firearms (legally) again. I always valued Tweak's input on gun topics. |
I'm glad someone else said it... |
I feel really bad for everyone involved.
But I just don't get it either. How is it 'honorable' to plead guilty and take a 4 year rap for something that you did as a result of an extreme medical condition? How is being away from your family for 4 years any less traumatic than a trial? Even a really tough trial with lots of nasty cross examination? It's over in a few days max. Four years is a really long stretch. I just don't get it. |
