I'm about fed up. I try my best to uphold good morals and not cross anyone, but I think I quit. There are so many people who lie and cheat their way through life and seem to have a whole lot more fun and money than me. How do you who are in my shoes handle life or have you already just gave up on beinig good and started living for yourself?

I quit being good and doing nice things for about a week. I cant do that though its just not the type of person I am. We had a thread a few days ago about pay it foward life blah.......Try to find that.

I get sick of it every time I get screwed over by people I thought were friends and went out of my way to help. Keep doing it anyway, though.

I really dont give much a shit about people anymore.
I have been completely de-sensitized from years of working in emergency services.
(also from looking at violent porno on the internet for hours at a time)
That vast majority of people that need help get into trouble because of their own stupidity, impusliveness, or carelessness.
Should I feel sorry for a 350 lbs fatso that collapses at the mall? No.
Fatty made his decision years ago to abuse his body and be a couch potato.

Should I stop to help the dumb broad that ran out gas?
She has a gage on her dashboard that tells her the tank is getting low and its time to put more fucking gas in it.
make the bitch walk home. It will be good lesson for her that E means "empty", not "enough"

If someone truely needs help through no fault of their own, I'll offer what assistance I can without putting myself in danger of anything. But if you help people that got in trouble for doing dumb shit, they will never try to change their behavior to be a responsible person.

Many people in this board prepare for SHTF. Do you expect to help people that didnt prepare, even though they were completely capable of making their own preparations?

Being an Old Timer, I've got a Basement full of Thank-you's and an Ass-Hole that looks like the HOLLAND TUNNELL. Fact of life-- There is ALWAYS someone out there just waiting to jam it right up your ass. And it is usually a "good friend". Lot to be said here. It seems that when you try and be kind, people take it as a sign of weakness and try jam it to you.

When you don't let them get away with it, you're branded as an asshole.

Sucks.

Yes there are days when I am ready to flush the entire Christian code. People are the most annoying, frustrating, evil, pains in the neck in the entire universe. No good deed seems to go unpunished at times and you begin to feel like the whole world is lined up to kick you in the balls and they are all wearing steel-toed boots.

The possible responses are to become as scummy as the people who are making you crazy, to start drinking heavily, or to repeat to yourself "this too shall pass" and put on a cup.

Yup. I could be a lot happier if I said "fuck my credit rating," along with being a shallow self-centered jerk. I would fighting off women (because the assholes get them), instead of looking for my first.

But then I come home to the puppies and just try to be the guy they think I am. Life's a bitch, then you die.

I could write volumes on the completely different turn my life has taken when I decided to go back to being a decent person. It's REALLLLLLLLLLLY difficult to maintain. However, I am on the right course and despite the lonliness, I stay that course.......

doing the right thing is ALWAYS harder.....in the end I hope that it is worth it.....

and if not, well, at least I tried......

people suck. for real, i don't understand how some people can be complete douchebags and just breeze through life without any problems.

but when you meet a truely good person, all the bad you've seen just seems to be erased

I know it's a lot more fun to find the good in people than to focus on the bad or inappropriate thing that they do. I do have a weakness for inconsiderate, self centered people.............praying about that.

It is a big ugly world out there. The best you can hope to do is to look after the ones you love.

Every one else is second on the list.

Not to mean that you be an asshole to them, but ask yourself: Will they come before my loved ones if I help them?

Glad we have people that are NOT like you. The human race cannot survive with people that think like you do. I can pretty much tell you have never served in the U.S military or if you did you were kicked out do to your inability to follow the core values.

On the one hand there are a tremendous number of lowlifes in the world crying out to be shot. If you wake up one morning and as you are drinking your coffee look up and see a flaming sword in the sky and at the same time hear the voice of God annointing you the instrument of his Vengence, I guess you better get out there and get busy. I suggest a box fed, gas operated, air cooled, semi automatic carbine if you are called upon for this type of duty.

However, I, like many others, am still waiting for Divine instruction and the fact is you can't expect much good out of people. Sad but true. I know this though "The Lord takes away every thing you steal". Believe it.

Do right. It's easier in the end. But don't expect much out of people. Fact is most of them weren't raised right and don't know any better. There are some good folks out there so keep looking. Don't jion teh ranks of the POS because tomorrow might be my day to see the sign in the sky.
