Man, my wife honestly makes the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. None of that dough in a tube stuff, straight from scratch. Never had anything like them. I don't even like sweets, and I always eat more of these than I should (I've actually had them for a meal before).

That being said, I've been a fan of the chocolate chip cookie dough for as long as I can remember. And to be honest, I think I like the cookie dough more than the cookies themselves. I think I'd just eat the dough if it weren't so rich.

I'm guessing I'm not the only one with this culinary disposition?

I love cookies, doesn't matter if they're a little raw or burnt to a crisp.

One thing I need to try is crisped cookies with raw dough spread on top...

Cookies are better I think right out of the oven with a glass of milk

It's a tough call....  I voted for dough because I always got yelled at by my Mom for eating it while she was trying to make cookies.  You dough eaters ever hear this one?  "You keep eating that dough and there'll be NO cookies!"  I used to sneak in the kitchen while there was a pan of cookies in the oven.

It depends. If we are talking chocolate chip cookies, the dough is better unless A) the cookies come out reasonably thick/moist, or B) the cookies are kinda hard, but substantial amounts of 2% milk are provided.

Due to the salmonella issue, I use the opposite approach -- I eat the storebought dough, but always bake the stuff I mix up at home.  The dough I make at home is oilier anyway (probably because I use REAL BUTTER and not whatever hydrolized vegetable oil Nabisco puts in).

I used to curse Safeway whenever they had a sale on that stuff.  Can't wait to get back so I can curse them when it's not on sale.

funny how we NEVER got salmonnela from the stuff as kids back when.  I try to avoid the dough, but excel at just out of oven cookie goodness
