Like the thread title implies.. I have been using Lubriderm, Its good and keeps the dryness and chaffing down. But I'm looking for something else that's better. What do you guys use?

This thread reminds me of the part in Me Myself and Irene when he wakes up next to the picture and the Lubiderm.
FWIW I get really dry feet and vitamin E seems t help. though I think you may have had somethign else in mind

I tried some Bath & Body Works body cream (As opposed to lotion).
The little guy came right up and enjoyed it, but its kinda like motion lotion and ended up feeling really hot. I got worried, wiped it off, finished up real quick with regualr lotion then took a shower. Didnt want chemical burn on my little soldier. |

 apply to hands before bedtime, don cotton gloves (or socks) to prevent messing up the bed you should awake with your hands feeling and looking much better |

This is the only stuff that has ever worked for me, I tend to split the skin on my fingers until I have to belt sand off the ridges to get them to heal. Udder cream [balm around here] has probably aleviated about 95% of it. |

I'm of Southern and Eastern European heritage. I don't need moisturizers, i need desicants, deodorants, and degreasers. Italian and Serb blood makes for greasy hair. I can go one day before my hair starts to "shine" from the oils. I'm envious of you clean, dry bastards.

I use Cetaphil, I have dry hands that crack and bleed if I dont use some kind of lotion on them.

For cheap but potentially messy, but very effective. petroleum jelly or mineral oil before bed. Get your hands wet (since no lotion adds moisture, all it does it hold moisture in), towell dry, apply either and put some kind of cheap cotton gloves on. This is for very dry skin.
When you are at home, or if you carry a bottle of whatever lotion with you, apply it after you wash your hands. First because your hands will absorb some of that water, and washing will remove the natural protective oils from your skin making them dryer. |

 Working outside all winter with concrete, drywall, sawdust etc. I wouldn't have any skin left without it. It is greasy, so you need to apply and wear cotton gloves to bed. Nothing works better or faster. IMHO Besides, 9 out of ten cows can't be wrong GM |

Jergens. Any of the various versions works well.
Works as well as Lubriderm and costs less. Vaseline Intensive Care is too thick. Corn Husker's never helped me. |

J/K I love my "product" Don't know the names but they all keep my skin "office worker" soft and they smell good. (Just getting in touch with my metrosexual side) I recommend some jojoba based oil or lotion. Jojoba oil is most like the natural oil your skin makes thus it is better for you. Jojoba oil lotion |

I have very dry skin that cracks and if I dont use a lotion the skin on my hands will hurt something awful..Ive tried just about every lotion out there and found the stuff by Avon works the best. My girlfriend bought me some...now I just order it online.

I almost started a thread about this yesterday.
I use Aveeno at home on my legs during the winter. Long socks = dry itchy skin. Waist too. Not a bad lotion, but it just doesn't help all that much. Too weak I think. We use Curel at work. It seems to help my hands quite a bit. But it doesn't last that long. If it wasn't so expensive, I would use Neutrogena. It was provided in a lab I used to work out, did a much better job. |

The fragrance free generic brand "Equate" sold at Walmart is about as close to Lubriderm as you'll get and about half the price. I use Lubriderm for my face but the other stuff for hands and elbows and for massage.....no not "that" massage

I use a hemp based cream from The Body Works store. It stinks but the oil absorbs so well and so fast (not leaving your skin greasy) like no other lotion I've tried and I've tried most. It also doesn't seem to make the skin just temporarily soft like other lotions. They make that line in products from foot and elbow cream to lip balm, all works better than all other products I have come across including some prescription lotions/creams I've tried. The primary difference in the products of that line is the percentage hemp oil content. I don't remember it as being cheap because when I buy it I'm only concerned with how well it works. No, you won't blow any tests, no THC, just green and stinky.

Dude, you aren't here where the humidity is about 5% through a looooong winter. No lotion and your skin simply starts falling off. Split lips and nosebleeds from the dry air are common.

Bag Balm is good for when your asleep, otherwise it is to damn thick and greesy. I use Hemp Chanvre from www.bodyshop.com It is the best stuff that you can buy. My hands in the winter time get bad enough that I could have stiches put in them. This stuff works great. You can wash your hands about 6 times before it comes off. Also Get some Loctite (control) super glue (the red lable bottle). Wash and dry hands throughly. Apply just enough super glue to the cut or crack on your hand. If the cut or crack is over a joint bend the joint 2/3 then apply glue. Dont move the glued part until it is fully dried. After it is fully dried carry on. The glue will fall off within 2 - 6 days depending on how often you wash your hands. I wash my hands alot since my job requires it. (nurse). When the glue falls off the cut / crack underneith will be closed and healed. Also once the glue is dry the damn cut wont burn or sting anymore. Also no it does not burn like hell when you put the glue on the open cut. Loctite makes a gel super glue as well DONT USE IT. Ettied for spelling Im at work and need to get off ASAP. And yes I put super glue on my hands. Dont put alot on it. A little goes along way.

I use a mixture of 30-60 drops of tea tree oil in one ounce of olive oil.
I worked as a deckhand on charter boats, and being in contact with the salt water all the time would dry my hands and then any nicks or cuts I would get would get all dried out and crack further and hurt like hell. This mix was king, better than any lotion. I sold tons of it to other boat captains and crew after I started using it. |
