Reminds me of a funny story. When I was in the 82nd Airborne we were out in the field one time during the summer. The commander sent for a water buffalo to be dropped off in the area that we were at. When the truck got there it had no water buffalo, the driver said that it got a flat on the way there and that he was going to have to go to the motor pool and get a spare tire for it and the tools to change it. So he got somebody else to go with him to help. They got the parts and tools that they needed and went back to where the driver had left the water buffalo.
It turns out that he had taken a shortcut and it turned out to be through a live fire area. Between the time that he left it and the time that he got back some AH-1 Cobras were using the range for target practice!
No more water buffalo, but I bet that there were some Cobra pilots that got a kick out of shooting a target that wasn't already shot up.
