sigarms is working hard to make them available.
swissarms is being stingy about it and doesn't want to sell them SIG says the earliest they will be available if a way is found to produce them, is 2007. Keep in mind, Sigarms in the US WANTS to sell them. they're aware of the demand. I got this information from Sigarms. so there's no doubt about it. |
I'd take that over any of the new stuff coming out...ie...Aug, FN, etc etc.
I've got to shoot one. Helps to have TONS of friends on LRPD. Yeah baby, I giggled like a school girl.
I have posted this same exact info several times here in threads when people ask, minus the date you provided. People still spread misinformation though. |
You and me both, I hope to god this is a reality, I and a 55X rifle soo bad. EVen if they are 1500+ |
Thats funny I also just got off the phone with Sig.
I have to send back a TrailSide Pistol for some work. Same story about the 500 series but was told 2006 or 2007. These guys give great service on their stuff. They talk to you like a person and really try to make things right. |
What demand?
Why would I want a 552? Why would anyone want one? Just because they are accurate, reliable, compact and Swiss sexy… you assume that I care. Ha! I laugh at your perceived demand! Double HA! I would not give and organ for one… not even a disposable one like a kidney. |
Damn! AR's and AK's wont be the only main rifles anymore. SCAR, AUG, FN P90, FN 2000, XCR, and now the 550 series?! My crystal ball forshadows alot of empty ARFCOM wallets...
FN 2k, FN P90, the Return of the AUG, the XCR, and now possibly the Sig 55x, welcome to the golden age of the black rifle!
Hey, look, a Swiss AK. Didn't the Swedes already do one? |
Why they didn't get the civy ball rollin on 55Xs last september is beyond me. I'd buy 2 of them,..no question about it.
This info better be true damnit!! |
I'd give my left nut for a civvy 550 and my right for a civvy AUG.
Everyone Hates brouhaha! |
There is a civilian version that was posted about by PAOLO AR15.
Sporting purposes and WOT keep them from being sold in US. |
Sigarms has a factory in the US. |
They can be manufactured in the US and sold here to avoid the Sporting Purposes Clause. |
I would seriously sell off a few of my rifles for a Sig550...o man..I WANT ONEEEEE
Did they make their year in that terribly rough downtown Little Rock, that cops from bigger cities wouldn't have lasted a year in? |

wasn't that gang special on MTV about Little Rock? |
I would love to have a SIG 550 series rifle. I'm not sure which I'd rather have though, the SIG or the FN F2000. I would probably go with the F2000.
There was an HBO special like 10-15 years ago called "Bangin' in Little Rock." www.imdb.com/title/tt0272104/ |

Here we go, ya'll watching?
Isn't that the gun Al Pacino used in HEAT? haha I had to do it. Yes I know. leave me alone. |
Little Rock (pop. 183,000) is the most dangerous city in North America! |
ANYWAYS BACK TO THE SIG 55X
How much are the mags going to cost not to mention the rifle itself? I like it as much as any normal red blooded American, but cuando ano tienes? As for Little Rock, thats what happens when you get a city full of unemployed uneducated dumbass wannabe's who watch too much "Menace to Society" |
I have seen the 30rd mags go for $50 and the 20rd mags go for $24. |
Jesus Christ. I may as well just get divorced now.
I'm already on the Steyr AUG pre-order list, I want a FN PS90 so bad I can taste it, and now this ! |
yea i'd have to dip into the house savings fund for one of those
their lack of availability. That said, being the Schweiz-o-phile that I am, I want one so bad my pee pee hurts. |
Civi legal versions of the Sig 550 / FN 2000 / P-90 / Styer AUGa3?
This could cause me to quit my job and move to a free state! Next thing you know Colt will once again market a true AR-15 and Ruger will again offer mini 14 factory folders and 20 rd mags to the US civi market While were at it: HEY HK - get with the program - Don't you also have a factory in the USA!!!!! This could be the beginning of a new golden age for shooters and collectors |
Question:
Would the upper be considered the receiver or the lower (like the AR-15)? |
I wouldn't hold my breath on that... |
