I went and got my CLEO signoff on my AWC Raider suppressor.  It couldn't have been any easier.  The Utah Country Sheriff just runs your number and signs, no muss no fuss no questions no interview.  Very nice.


I got my pictures and prints and I turn it in Monday.  Quiet shooting here I come....

My eardrums will love me.  

Congrats!!!!!!!!!  I tried to get a sign off for a suppressor and was denied by everyone where I live.

Two conditions first:
1. You use subsonic ammo exclusively when you use your suppressor.
2. You shoot outdoors exclusively.  And then there must be no overhanging roof of any kind.

Don’t forget about the Supersonic crack; that’s pretty loud in itself.
And you have to remember that suppressors merely lower the blasts; the reports are still pretty loud.  If you shoot indoors the walls and the ceiling will reflect and echo back whatever and whenever sounds you make.  And outdoors; roofs and sides of buildings will reflect noise again.

Uhhh if you use subsonic ammo there won't be a supersonic crack.

That said it ain't like in the movies. I've only got a handful of suppressed weapons that are Hollywood quiet.
