In Huntsville Alabama the daycare rates for newborns is about $125-$150 per week. Here in Turdville it's probably about 60% of that. If any of you know the rates in your area, would you please post them here?

My wife is thinking about converting my daughters room to a small newborn daycare buisness.  She loves babies and ours are grown and gone. We are at the in between age where we have no small children and no grand children yet. My wife is a fulltime homemaker and wants to make a little spending money at home. She kept about 5 children at a time when we first married and the money came in handy. Now she has the urge and spare time to do it again.

Thanks.

So if you found a matronly type woman that you knew would take special care of your children for $75-$80 per week and no pay if if the child wasn't there, you as a parent/customer would be satisfied?  I am trying to get a fell for the customer and market.

I pay 450 a month and snacks and meals are provided.  This is for a in-home liscensed daycare provider.

The company I work for has a daycare provider in the building and they are 800 a month.

I live in the St. Louis, Missouri area.

There can be some good money to be had if you have the time and patience.  My daycare provider always has people in her house and she always has kids around.  They have put in a playground and fenced the back yard for the kids to play in.

Tough job!
