... cool, Netherlands.
... Looks like I'll be over there for a few weeks here soon |
Get some hookers n beer for me. |
They must have inverted the field.
That guy just embarrassed all the other cars in front of him. |
LOL, yep. I was thinking he needed "GET THE FUCK OUTTA THE WAY!" reversed on his windshield. |
I like the shifting... Would make towing a lot easier with one of them
That was very cool. I played some racing games on my bud's Xbox. I was constantly thinking while watching this vid...."yup that's were I would wreck....oh this guy is good!"
Ohhhh man that is cool
I am not a race fan by any means, I just love things that go fast. Real fast. Insanely fast. That guy was not only an outstanding driver, but had a mount to match his skills. At least the drivers in front of him saw him coming and shifted over to let him scream by. And like the poster above, I am deaf now Dram out |
Tag... I'll have to check it out when I get home... and yeah.. straight cut gears wail!
Pretty cool. Reminds me of when I used tro road race many years ago.
What were the hand signals about?
Since I can't drive like that I'll settle for the video of someone who can |
That thing just SCREAMS! I love it! Wouldn't be much fun during a commute, but it would kick ass to have such driving skills.
I believe that is a semi-automatic transmission? We should all be familiar with how that works! |
WOW. one hell of a driver.
how many RPM is that thing turning? |
Now we're talking!! |
A sequential. Very spendy. The computer handles clutching and in some instances rev matching and such. |
Very cool. Thanks for posting. That guy is a great driver, I loved how he was passing other cars as soon as the race started.
A BMW 320? It looked like it was reeling in Porche 930 Turbos..
That was just plain crazy. It was as if the other cars didn't know the race had started!! |
Tag for later, used to be involved in the racing scene over there.
That'll wake you right up. Interesting, at the end of the tape it looked like there was a team trying to block him in, those silver cars with the big fins.
The whole back end of the field looked like people who'd never driven a real car on a real racetrack before. Rank amateurs, or worse!
That guy outclassed almot everybody else. It was almost embarrassing to watch. CJ |
So is this what all of those dumbasses that put the annoying fart cans and ridiculously huge spoilers on the back of their Honda Civics are trying to imitate?
cars that go "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" with big ass wings! That's the Long Island Expressway in rush hour dude!
Seriosly though, thats frickin cool. |
Race fan or not...
That dude is a DRIVER!!! He was flat out beating everyone. |
That sure brought back memories of driving on the autobahn. I sure miss small fast cars and the roads to drive them on. |
Fixed that for you. |
why would the transmission make a sound like that? I drive a 5 speed, my previous car was a 5 speed 1st GEN dsm (modded)
It NEVER sounded like that. That's higher then a 1000cc crotch rocket at high rpms |
Straight cut gears on the transmission. Its roughly the same sound your transmission (may) make when you put it in reverse and stomp on the gas. Whines like a mean pissed off bitch doesnt it? |
Straight-cut gears are almost never used on passenger vehicles for the reason you're hearing. Due to slight clearance for fit, there's chatter between the gears when they mesh. The angle cut gears don't have to unmesh and remesh each time--several teeth are in contact at all times, and as such, make a bit less noise. ETA, damn he hauled ass. |

The Dutch Supercar Cup is pretty much a group of cars that didn't fit into other classes.
For example you have cars similar to cavaliers, from a cavalier cup that stopped the year previous to that, you have standard BMW's, Porsches, and FIA GT classed cars in the same race. The variety and the type of cars are very widespread. So put a factory prepped BMW, or a FIA GT Porsche 911, or a Marcos 500 on the back of the starting grid, and you'll see things like this. He probably didn't pass the techical inspections on the day prior, or got disqualified or missed the qualifications. |
AWESOME! But it reminds me too much of my wife driving through rush hour.
