Was she nominated to be shot down not by the dems, but the Republicans? In doing this, Pres. Bush can nominate another more conservative candidate saying Miers was too liberal?

So far the dems seem to "like" her, and the conservatives don't. Just a theory.

That's a lib type strategy - not a repub tactic.

ETA: not that the libs would ever need to do that but it is a back-handed, dirtbag thing to do so, by default, it's a lib type strategy.

I agree with you but Bush has done a few liberal type of things lately....why not another.

Honestly, I kind of doubt she is anything other than a genuine candidate. As someone else posted, Bush is anything but subtle.

Rowe Vs. Wade that is the target. Look for McCain, Spectre, and their ilk to lead the opposition.
