Another Husker fan here. Just a few comments....
1) Thanks TXSRCHE for the kind comments. Perhaps the Big-10 fans are upset that Texas and Iowa St. put the hurt on two of their top ranked teams? 2) Personally, I've always liked Michigan. One certainly could argue that they are top college program of all time. And for all the success Michigan has had....it's still a very clean program. 3) As for Nebraska's struggles, Solich was not getting it done in recruiting....PERIOD....and that is why he was fired. Tom dominated teams with the option because he had the talent that allowed him to do so. Frank was not bringing in the same level of talent....not even close. In comes Callahan who is overhauling the offensive philosophy and will need 3 years to get the players he needs. So yes...for now we are down. Has everyone forgotten that Pete Carroll at USC went 5-7 two years in a row and the fans wanted him to be fired? Now look how good they are. 4) One other fact. Under Devaney and Osborne, Nebraska won more games from 1962 to 1997 than any other school. The Huskers won five national titles, 21 conference titles, 18 bowl games, had 28 top-10 finishes, 221 home sellouts, 34 bowl trips and 36 consecutive winning seasons. 5) Now enough bickering. Our real enemies are not ourselves, but the damned UN, French, terrorist, and any other socialst bastard out there. American Football RULES. AMERICA.....fuck yeah!!\ GBR |

As for gmtmaster, maybe he could post a picture of himself in his "got Frank?" T-shirt.  Congratulations to MICHIGAN on their fine season, from top 5 to unranked in 3 weeks is impressive indeed. And although krpind seems like the typical Texass fan, I do hope they knock off the USC playboys if they get the chance. The 3-peat must be spoiled. |

I can't watch Breaking Bonadouchebag. The guy has had it made for so long and he just goes looking for ways to screw it up.
He had an awesome gig in Detroit, well paid morning radio star. I even listened to him for a bit. He then got a gig in Chicago and would commute every day from Chicago to Detroit... then he just started falling apart. Oh well. What a stupid name for the show, too. Edit: Go BLUE! (we haven't had a lot to cheer about so far this season but tomorrow's game is gonna rock... State hasn't looked this good since the late 80s) |

Solich was about as creative-minded as my left Danner boot. Recruiting really went down after Osborne left but you can't blame Solich entirely. He just has no charisma. Now Callahan, this guy's a douche. For the level of talent they have they are running at maybe 20% of potential. That's his fault. The play calling is just miserable. I wish they would go back to the option and just run that 100 times a game. Certainly they can't be any less productive offensively than they are now. |

We do not have ALOT of talent on offense. I mean come on, name someone on offense other than Cory Ross who would start for a top ten team. There is none. 85% of our "projected" talent are true freshmen or JUCOs. Nebraska of 2005 is not a talented team. |

Big +1. The biggest problem is that we don't have a quarterback. Having run the option for 30+ years we have no one who can run the west coast. The guy we have now is an improvement, but remember that he is still the guy that dropped out of Wake before coming to us. Give us a couple years to get our freshman talent up to snuff and we'll go back to pounding the rest of the conference. Also, remember that we are not exactly experts on this rebuilding thing, what with not having to do it since the 70s.

We are the 3rd winningest team of alltime, have 5 National Championships, and 3 Heisman Trophy winners. We've dominated the Outland and Lombardi Awards, and have more Academic All-Americans that any other school-by far.
You wimps that try to denigrate Nebraska are so fucking jealous it's pathetic. We will be back once we refill the pipeline that IS Nebraska football and you'll be back to crying like babies once again. The good news is: We're HUSKERS...and YOU'RE NOT! HH |
