I was just shopping at the Pittsburgh Mills mall today and ran into Ben Roethlisberger aka "Big Ben" of the Steelers.

Kinda neat....had his "posse" of brothers with him....too bad he doesn't have any white folk to hang with.

Said his shoulder was doing fine....got a bi week so he must be out sewing his oats.

I ran into Mr. T in Chicago once a few years back and was suprised at how friendly he was...much nicer than Ben.

What say you?

I met Clinton a long time ago when he was Gov here.  I'm so ashamed.

Tracy Lawrence, Brooks and Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Keith Urban, Cletus T Judd, and a few other Country singers.  Back when I worked on the Ambulance here I was the only one that wanted to work the country concerts.  So I got to meet a lot of my favorite singers.

Rick Derringer, very cool guy.  Bought a bootleg of an Edgar Winter/Rick Derringer show from him and got it autographed.  I met Michael Bruce (Alice Cooper group) at the same show.  Very mellow, a great guy to talk to and an amazing musician.

Ann Richards while she was still governor of Texas.  Funny lady, even if you didn't agree with her politics.

Wow, the list I could make.

I'm bouncing for a company that does concerts, and movie shoots.

Right now we are do "Invicible" the story of Vince Papale, a Philadelphia Eagles player. I met Mark Wahlberg.

I've also met Tren Reznor from Nine Inch Nails. Gene Simons, Geoff Tate from Queenryche, Marilyn Manson, Bam Margera, and Metal god Tom Araya of SLAYER!

I worked the back of stage right at Live 8 in Philly, I met Will Smith, Richie Sambora, I waved to Stevie Wonder, but I don't think he saw me.

I almost got into a fight with Jay-Z's head of security, but he wouldn't take the swing when I told him to.   There went that law suit!

There are more, but I need to get ready to leave for an overnight at the movie shoot right now.

My dishwasher is Joe Nemechek's uncle. I didn't believe it at first either, but I've met Joe's parents and I've also met his pilots. They came and picked up my dishwasher and flew him to Lakeland, FL in his private jet when his father died. Nice jet btw.

I also ran into Jimmy Walker at the Crystal Palace casino in Nassau. He was getting on an elevator when I realized who he was and I gave out a big "what's up J.J.". He smiled and said hello and that was it.

I got Eric Heiden's autograph at a bike race in Detroit in the 80s. Still have it around somewhere. He was very nice.

Edit: Funny secondary "meeting"

A buddy had tickets to a race at Michigan International Speedway, oh, had to be 8 years back now. Including pit passes. I have been in the pits before but not just before the Trans Am race. So I head to the bathroom to relieve myself and I swear, 5 of the drivers come in in their driving suits to do the same. Some big names too- too bad I'm not enough of a race fan to know the guys. They were funny, short-ish regular joes. Jeff Gordon IIRC was there. My buddy was like "Did you see who you were peeing with?" I was like "Uh, some drivers?"

And I also stood (outside) next to the pit reporter for ABC, Jack Arute. You know how he wears a flameproof suit like the drivers (or did there)? His film crew didn't wear that stuff- I thought that was funny.

I used to go to comic book conventions with my Dad before there were dedicated sci-fi conventions. I met almost all ofthe cast of the original Star Trek series, plus Gene Roddenberry, D C Fontana and a few others. Also met Martin Landau and Barbara Bain from Space:1999.

I've met tons of baseball and football players in Kansas City. The one who impressed me the most as being a really nice guy was Bo Jackson. The guy simply loves playing with kids. He is a really kind and decent man.

The biggest tool in KC sports is George Brett.

I saw Tom Cruise at LAX about 15 years or so ago. Shrimp.

I met about every IMSA sportscar racer between 1986 and 1990, including Mario Andretti. Easily the most gentlemanly of them all was Derek Bell. His partner for years, the late, great Al Holbert was a brilliant guy but could be a bit brash. He was a really neat guy to talk to about esoteric technical things, though. Pretty damn brilliant engineer, but taken from us too soon in an airplane crash.

Talked to Paul Newman many times at IMSA races. Pretty good race car driver. Genuinely funny guy. I understand he does some acting.

I met a bunch of astronauts in the early days of the Space Shuttle program, including John Young, Robert Crippen and Dick Truly. Astronauts can drink their body weight in alcohol.

Got to meet a lot of music artists in the early 80s too, as I would help a friend of mine set up for shows at the Uptown Theatre in KC. Arlo Guthrie, Anthrax and PeeWee Herman stand out.

I met Robin Olds. Cool guy. Lady killer.

However, the most impressive "famous" guy I ever met was Joe Pesci. Total class act all the way. This guy sings like an angel. Extremely cordial.

I flew from Portland to LA with Woody Harrelson.  He slept most of the way with his head on my shoulder.  He was drunk, smelled bad, was not wearing a shirt or shoes.  I woke him up in LA, he got up, staggered off the plane and that was the last I heard from him.  He doesn't call, he doesn't write.

I used to shoot (photograph) motorsports for a living, so I've met most of the NASCAR, CART, IRL guys and a of couple F1 guys. Of all of them only Buddy Baker (old time NASCAR putz) was a major dick

Split a 6-pack of Budweiser with Paul Newman in turn 1 at Lime Rock Racetrack in CT during a race, about 20 years ago.  (It's a long story)  Pretty cool guy for a lib though.

Reading a few of these posts reminded me of a few more.

Dick Marcinko at a few Team Reunions in Ft. Pierce, FL.  Tremendous man. His love for this country is amazing.  Drank beers with him and several other unnamed Hero's.  Had the privilege of buying a few rounds of beer for them all.  The are all great men whose humility floors me.

Shaq, helped him pick out some ammo at Bass Pro Shops in Orlando.  Great guy, loves kids and fans.

I am distantly related to the drummer from Blink 182, Travis Barker.  Never met him though.

I met Ginger from Gilligan's Island in a Dr.'s office in Ft. Lauderdale.  Very nice...holding up well (was about 6 years ago).

Latoya Jackson...long story.  Psychotic bitch.  If Michael is half a crazy as she is, no doubt in my mind he is a peter diddler/puffer.

ETA:  How could I forget Dick Trickle.  He would show up at a one of the bars I used to work at in Daytona Beach and bum booze all night.  He would let you take a pic of him for a drink.  At the end of the night he would try and go home with the biggest beast in the place.
