Giant Eagle is the s--t these days --My wife just did the same thing today filled up the cherokee and two jerry cans (no pun intended jerry) to get to the 30 gal limit at just over a buck fifty/Gal

We have the same deal with a local supermarket chain. If you compare prices to their competitors, it won't take long to see that you pay full price+ for that gasoline on the other end. But, it's a deceptively good feeling to pay less than $1.00/gallon for gasoline like I did on one fill up back in August.

When it was a dollar a gallon it was basically .25 to get it out of the ground .25 to refine it and get it to market. .25 taxes .25 profit |

I remember .88 a gallon, but that was in 1999, when I got my drivers license.

Back then, I was driving a 85 Monte Carlo with a 400 Sm Block. When I wasnt filling up the tank at 80 cents a gallon I was putting new rears on it.

that was in GA where they dont have much tax on gas.. I think it went into the $.60's at one point. |

there was a gas station by a friend's work that had their computers misprogrammed, they were selling premium on one pump for TWENTY EIGHT FRIGGIN CENTS PER GALLON!
for about an hour or so, before the manager found out. of course, by the time word got around to me and that wife, it was already changed. what a pisser. |

Spent $179 at the gas station yesterday. Filled the suburban and my pick up truck.

Paid $2.429 yesterday but that was probably the last gas station in my area to have that price. The others have already raised their prices to around $2.589. There were lines two to three cars deep and you could already see people losing their tempers as they tried jockying for open pumps.
