You need to know a lot. Study TIC/TIM, ERG, NIOSH, NFPA, and all the other hazmat stuff. We got an introduction in the course I was in. it is some high speed stuff.

When is your interview? If you have a week or so you can study; if it's tomorrow, you won't learn enough to talk about it intelligently.

ETA: Find out if the National Safety Council has an office local to you. Go by and pick up the 1910 publication, it's about $35. It's a lot earier to read the regs in the book than it is online.

Remember your protection levels -

Level A - Vapor protective fully encapsulating protective ensemble (Gumby or moon man suit)
Level B -  Liquid splash protective suit (encapsulating - like the Level A but without vapor protection)
Level C -  Liquid splash protective suit (non-encapsulating - think rainsuit, boots, gloves, & respirator)
Level D - "ordinary clothing" (ie Firefighter Turnout gear) that, when used with respiratory protection provides "limited protection" but no specific vapor or splash protection.

There is differing levels of  respiratory protection... SCBA, SAR, PAPR & cartridge respirators.

Spend your time on the OSHA site. Read everything you can and take notes.  Google "1910.120," if you have time you'll learn a lot.

 Lots of good tips here. In addition: learn how to read the NFPA diamonds ( really easy ), have a general understanding HAZMAT shipping and placard procedure.  Know MSDS rules and procedures ( also easy )..............if you follow the general outline of the tips popping up here you should be a HAZWOPER badass in a few days.
