Uh, oh - I think I've got an adiction problem.

I could have used that money to pay off a credit card.

How do I stop the madness?

Hell, I've spent nearly that much on guns and ammo since July!

And since September last year, I've probably dropped double that on RC aircraft!

That is maybe 1/10 of what I have spent on my two hobbies (guns and guitars) in the same period.

Since 2001?!?!?!

What's your problem?

Job situation tight?  Other bills piled up?  I'd be emabarrassed if that's all I spent in 4 years...

08/01 as in August 2001? Or as in August 1st this year?

08/2001...........................No problems, in fact your lagging behind.

08/01/2005.......................That may be a little much.

I blew that much money on my first AR15 build in my freshman year of college.

Seriously.

1,500 in 4 YEARS?

Wimp.

Purchased first gun 9/02 (Walther P99).

Now, 3 years later have 19 rifles, pistols and a shotgun in the safe.  Total outlay for guns, ammo, supplies at least  15K+.

I spent that much in the last week on various related buys, wait until you are marking next years calendar for purchases.

I spent 10 times that in the last year alone.

That's not bad at all.

$1,400 divided by 4 years is about where I would want to be.

Still a good amount of shootng but not too hard on the bankroll.

Oh, well then... that's a fine effort!  I wouldn't feel bad about it at all!

I decided long ago this fact:  money spent on guns is money not spent in a bar on strippers.  Of course, YMMV, but frankly, you've seen 1,500 hose bags, you've seen them all

In the last 3 months or so, I've spent about $11 on shooting - a box of 9mm from the sporting goods store.

Seriously that's all.

Well, you guys are making me feel better.

I guess I coulda blowed it on stupid shit like golf, that won't help me one bit when the SHTF.

I'm now in a "protection" mode - My 2 year goals:

1. Get CCW ($152), good concealable holster for new CZ75 compact: $50. Class taken.
2. Buy safe for long guns. Budget $400 (I know it's low, but I'll bolt it to the wall)
3. Buy dies for .40, .32 acp., .30-'06 (Garand), 7.62 x 25 Tok: $100
4. Load up 500 rounds of each: .308, .30-'06, .32 acp, 7.62 x 25 Tok, 8mm Mauser, .303 Brit, and 1000 rounds of .223 and .40: $750 @ .15 rnd avg.
5. Buy preparedness items for potential SHTF scenario: 1 month food and water for 2 people, 5 cats, one dog, and a hamster : $700?
6. Pay down all credit card debt and save for a home
7. Buy home well outside of city and move by Dec 07

Estimated cost (minus home and debt repayment): over $2500. 'Cause I gotta do all this stuff while I'm paying CCds down, I'll have to go slow...

I guess I'll have to curtail some of my shooting activites, and totally STOP buying guns. Now that I have the money, I find it's feeding my addiction instead of resolving my debt.
