Last week we hit $3, yesterday was $2.79 and today was $2.59.
Any place else dropping? |
Not that fast. They are going to get as much as they can as long as they can around here.
In chicago last week or so the prices were about $3.29 for regular
now it's almost near 'normal' at 2.99-3.10 for regular. Chicago sucks bigtime. |
SUV prices are dropping faster than the gas. Around here the dealers are advertising 10k-15k off SUV's
No shit. And now Mrs gorilla decides she would like to trade in the Exploder and go back to a Nissan. |
Where in TX are you? They haven't dropped that drastically in my neighborhood here in SA... maybe about 8-10 cents at the most.
East Texas. Tyler area.
Here in Stafford VA they went from $2.53 before Katrina to $3.29 and as of yesterday evening $2.71
They arent "dropping like crazy", that are "becoming less fraudulent". The conferences on gas
$2.74 IS getting bent over. Remember what it was before Katrina? |
Just as fast here. I saw them sub 2.55 on my way home from class last night.

Gas prices dropping like crazy???
Dropping like crazy would be say dropping $0.10 per hour, every hour, for a couple of days. Just like the prices were rising just after the levees broke. EDGING DOWN would be a more accurate description around here, $2.55/87 unleaded and that's still an arse rape as far as I'm concerned. AND I'M GONNA BITCH-SLAP THE NEXT TREE HUGGER WHO SAY'S HOW EXPENSIVE IT IS IN EUROPE! FOR THE LAST TIME, EUROPE HAS NO PETROLEUM! |
The sky is falling the sky is falling.
I paid $2.56 two days ago in Martinsville, VA |
Cheapest around here is about $2.60 a gallon, but I've still seen prices at $2.80+ a gallon. Last week it was "we have to raise prices because we are paying for the next load." This week it's "well, we already paid for what's in the tanks so we have to sell it for that much".
$2.58 is the cheapest I've seen here SW of Atlanta. It's a welcome change, but it's also sad that seeing 2.58 actually made me smile.
I should have some of you guys start mailing me a few gallons each week . Last week 2.98, yesterday 2.92. But then we are usually one of the highest priced areas in OR.
My area of town it got as high as $2.99/gal, now it's down to about $2.79/gal. Lowest price around here (within 10-15 miles) is $2.58. They seem to be coming down.
You would make a horrible business person. |
Thanks. I guess charging $3,000 for 2 hours of my time makes me a horrible business man. |
Are you in the Rogue Valley? Edit: $2.49 here...I won't be happy until it gets back to the $1.55 it was the first day I moved here. |
Ever since Katrina it had been $2.97 for regular here, and yesterday it dropped big time to $2.95
That is GOUGING! Those 2 hours didn't cost you $3,000! Maybe you are a good engineer, but with statements like yours I doubt you'd be able to run a gas station. |

2.54 here in nw ohio...supposedly it is a little cheaper yet in on the other side of town...
In my area, the price of gas has doubled in the last year or so. Lowering the price by 10% after a rapid 100% increase doesn't qualify as a good deal.
The new price is nothing to celebrate and the fact that a lot of people now think of $2.75 or even $2.50 per gallon as "a good deal" is proof that the conditioning cycle (double the price, threaten additional price increases prior to a 10% price reduction to satisfy the masses, repeat as desired) is working and ensures that it will be repeated. |

Here are some links to lowest prices of gas in:
NH ($2.63 in Wakefield) www.newhampshiregasprices.com/ Maine ($2.53 Saco) www.mainegasprices.com/ Gas prices around the US and Canada.. www.gasbuddy.com/ Hope this will help you. |
Paid $2.59 on the way into work and once I got into town it was $2.39. Figures.

Its all such BS !!
They jump 50 cents in 2 days after Katrina, then it takes 3 weeks to start dropping the price. What a crock ! Now that its coming down 20 cents that is supposed to keep us happy. Price should be around 120 bunch of Fxxxxxx crooks but hey Bush doesnt do shit because he is making a mint along with his buddy from haliburton.. Let start a thread on why do you think or possibly know of why the price per barrel is so damn high and why is it staying so damn hi !! Now with the latest hurrincan what has taken 3 weeks to come down will be back up 50 cents in 3 days.. mark my words ! Glad I can work from home. |
i passed 2.46 tonight on the way home- buried my foot deep in my v8 when i saw that
No, I think CA is prolly the "Highest" state. :) Prices went up 5 cents up here . 2.89 a gal in Kenai, 2.94 a gal in seward, 2.64 in Anchorage. |
I hear the roller coaster chain clinking...I think we're about to go for another ride care of Rita
We shall see.... I hope not though.

There should be enough refining capacity in this country to handle outages without prices rising. |
Oh there is....But ummmm, yeah,......
High 3.09 Low 2.79 here...From a high of 3.85 in the days following Katrina.
With Rita barrelling in...my advice is top off the tanks before she makes landfall...projected anywhere from Corpus to LA will feel her wrath. Here we go again... |
