Yes..Big carp are fun too

My highlight was a 7-9 pound Channel (In the city of Chicago) on a 5ft. UL rod with 6 lb test!
Took a good 15 min to nurse that one in

Anyone else like fishing for catfish?

Uh, no. Catfish are trash fish.

Fish I target: redfish, seatrout, cobia, sheepshead, mangrove snapper, spanish mackerel, king mackerel, black grouper, red grouper, and gag grouper. All of which have been caugh and eaten in the last three months.

Last Sunday we caught, redfish, seatrout, cobia, sheepshead and mangrove snapper. We also caugh trash fish, hardhead catfish, sailcats, sharks and ladyfish.

I love Cat.  Sitting there late evening, early morning, watching the pole tip, fire crackling behind you, the utter silence of the river and the great friendship.  Wonderful, wonderful times!

Nothing like a shore lunch of some fresh fish, regardless of the species.  God, you made me homesick for my beloved river in the desert I frequent when I can.

Pretty strange to catch a catfish on a jig.  They usually only hit still or slowly drifting baits.

A couple crappie from this spring (42 on the stringer, 30 the day before... All were 10 or over, largest was almost 15inches)

Channel cats from Saturday night. (that's my moonlight LED headlamp)  We drift fish with fresh shad that I catch with a throw new before the sun goes down.  Then drink and fish till about 5am,  crash out for a few hours and go home.

I caught this one in a pond that our neighbors had in their backyard at my old house.   I don't know what it weighed.

Fish for cat almost every night off my driveway bridge 50 yards from the house.

I use carp pieces in my crawdad traps and use the crawdads for bait.
