I've read for years that you're not supposed to tell people what your preparations are, how many guns you own, or even that you own guns, because you elevate yourself to target level.
But I cannot help it. I look around and see a huge number of people starving for just the barest of leadership from somebody close. The people look at New Orleans, and decry the pathetic response as they perceive it, whether is be the failures on the city, the state or the federal level. They see the deaths and the misery, and they know it didn't have to happen. But they have no answer other than what they've been told by the media and the government. The calls for people to prepare have been lost in the roar of the the talk of the government response.
I am compelled to talk to as many people as possible (without coming off like a nutcase) about the fact that the best entity to protect the individual is the individual himself. But after that, people are still lost - HOW to prepare for a threat they really haven't ever thought about? HOW to prepare for the large number of life-altering scenarios out there and not break the bank or think of nothing else 24/7?
People DO recognize the need to be prepared, but they need to be shown that they actually can survive with literally just a handful of fairly common items. Sheeple irritate me, so I've been telling people that they don't have to depend upon anybody else for their survival.
Do you keep your mouth shut, or talk to people you know?
