I expect to get the H-harness that was the subject of a thread(H or Y) next week
 Now I am thinking about three day buttpacks What do you reccommend as far as size and water proofing? Does everything in it have to be waterproofed (because rain is not the only way your gear can get wet) and are the .mil 3daypacks any good, they are the cheapest |

Mountainsmith makes some nice buttpacks, I'm not sure if that's what you had in mind. I've never actually tried one myself, I don't like all that wt hanging on my waist/hip. I think some of the mountainsmiths also have a shoulder harness.

Gallon size Ziplock bags are cheap and easily replaceable.

I've never tried one either but I am hoping the harness will redistribute the load without making too much noise

I didn't think about it before, but now that I am getting it I realized that rain was not the only water I might have to deal with Looks like a box of ziplocks will be one of the first accessories to go in the bag, thanks |

How much gear can you fit in a typical pack?
