Sometimes when I dont have a gun and I see it, I kind of fall in love with and romanticize how awesome it is.  But the S&W 627 pc  seems like a great firearm.  Stainless steel,  8 rounds of 357,  in a never FTF  revolver package.

Is it as good as i want it to be.

I'de love to get one too.  I haven't read anything bad about them.  Wish I had the money for one!!!  Here is a link to a search of "627" off the Smith and Wesson Forum site.

every review i've read has said the 686 is just as good.

YMMV.

So maybe the extra round in the 627 isn't worth the extra 300 dollars in price. Good point.

I have been lusting over one for a few years. However, I ususally buy my guns used, and I've never seen a used one for sale in the local shops around town.

And the extra round is not worth the extra bulk of the N frame.

Also that pistol weighs as much as a 686+ with a 6" barrel and about half a pound more that the 686+ with 4" barrel.

Get a 686+ and some good speed loaders.

If you like N-Frames, and I do, then you should enjoy that gun.

I love mine. Just went off to C&S for some tritium sights, but other than that, I can't think of anything those need.

8 shots of .357 Magnum is hard to beat...

Too 'spendsive for my tastes. The only one I ever saw for sale was over $800.00!! That would buy an AR, and a whole shit-load of ammo!!
