The school bus under-utilization stuff is a load of crap. The city was destroyed because the levee/dam failed. The dam failed because adequate materials could not be helicoptered in quickly enough. The choppers just weren't available.
http://www.kvoa.com/Global/story.asp?S=3750085 "Helicopters mothballed in Arizona dusted off to help with shortage" August 22, 2005 "The Marines have been forced into taking the extraordinary step because they have only 150 of their only heavy-lift workhorses left in their fleet. " |
Is that a fact? I have a question. From news footage I have seen, there is a barge inside the levee that looks to be just about the size of the hole in the levee. If the barge broke the levee, what do helicopters have to do with that? And is it possible that the levee failed because the NO Levee Commission used levee money in the past to buy a casino boat and an airplane? And where should these helicopters be kept in a Cat 4 hurricane? In Nagin had his way, they would be underwater with the busses. |
No, actually your post is a load of crap. But thanks for playing. |
WTF
At least one levee failed because a loose barge hit it and I seriously doubt there were any heavy lift helicopters flying when the levees failed as all were flown out of harms way before the storm. |
Um... The levee failed because of the lack of heavy airlift choppers eh?
Well, I guess then that wildfires in the west are caused by the lack of firefighting equipment. |

General Discussion.
There has been a catastropic loss of life and money. Why does discussing it in a way that may implicate the decision making of Neocons make me a troll? I'm life NRA, honorably discharged USA. The discussion of the possible truth of the loss of New Orleans should only make me a troll in the Republican National Committee/Neocon Room. If you watched the coverage live, the reporters noted the slow rate of helicopter drops and the relatively small size of the bags being dropped. Blackhawks aren't heavy lift. |
So now we know you're not just a troll, you're a liar as well. |
You've yet to bring anything of worth to the discussion table. Riddle me this, riddle me that: how exactly would more helos have stopped the levees from failing? |
Inventing shit is not discussion. You are without a doubt a troll. |
Everyone knows that the levee's were blown up by Dick Cheney and John Roberts in order to kill black people. I know, I heard it on the radio... ...... .. .
And if the mods want to play "match the IP address" I wonder who's troll account this will be....
What the hell is a Neocon? And since when are the reporters SME's on helicopters and levee repair? Relatively small size when compared to what? Their egos? |
Just curious - what was your MOS? Where were you stationed? |
Sorry, I know you need this to be simple and must resort to ad hominim attacks, but it is true. |
So your saying years of corruption, failure to meet fedaral matching funds progams, wasting money to dredge little used harbors and waterways had NOTHING to do with the break? Get a clue. |
No need to apologize, just leave. |
That is quite fascist of you isn't it? Here is a suggestion, YOU, go to Police Magazine, and say some shit about the Bureau of Prisons. You'll have your paycheck stub posted in minutes along with your SSN. I don't kid myself about anonymity. |
There were actually two grain barges that slammed in to the levee and broke it. There was a guy they interviewed early on that watched it happen from his front window.
As for why they didn't upgrade or fix the levees, ask the Sierra Club and the local "Save the Wetlands" groups. They have sucessfully sued and halted any and all upgrades of the levees and tidal surge gates on Lake Pontchartrain. They proudly claim to have saved valuable wetlands and forests from destruction. |
I smell fear. Obviously he's just figured out he's going to be discovered and re-banned. |
Well that actually makes more sense that this helicopter BS. All helicopters were grounded until well after the storm passed due to high winds and any heavy lift helicopters would have been flown out of the danger area and not available at the time. And it appears at least 2 of the levee failures were not know about for several hours. Not that helicopters could have helped but to even try one would also need a time machine. This kind of crazy shit is a sign of pure desperation… the mud the left/Democrats have been slinging has not suck and they are reaching for anything ever if it is beyond reason. |
So's John Kerry. Please distinguish yourself by good reasoning and "the school bus fiasco" is not reasoning, it's just an exclamatory phrase. Buses would have saved lives, if they were there and if people would have taken them. Levees are mostly to protect property. BTW there wasn't ONE mention of New Orleans, levees, sandbags, a flood or Hurricane Katrina in that article. You made everything up. There's a job waiting for you at the NY Times or CBS News. CNN's full. |

+1 Let's have it. |
What are you worried about troll... getting banded. |
Quit injecting common sense and facts into this ludicrous thread. |
ding ding ding, we have a winner! |
So sit at home and jack off to gay porn, I don't care.
I am imagining a troll being fitted with one of those radio-tracking bands like the California condors... |
Yes, let's have it. And explain the Neocon thing. I'll admit I don't know what it is, but I think I don't like it. |
No, the levee failed due to poor maintenance by the city and state. When the water is rising is not the time to start tryng to fix it. A lack of helicopters did not cause the failure. Anyone who can use a basic logical thought process can understand that.... but since you tossed the word "neocon" in we see you have no grasp of logic or common sense anyway. The city of NO had a Levee Board that was responsible for building and maintaining levees, look at the for the reason it failed. |
Where were the helicopters? I mean other than the Coast Guard?
Having posted this topic in General Discussion it isn't like I'm holding your head in a toilet at Leavenworth, as much as I would like to Rik. |
Good point... Tranquilizer gun anyone... I think I bumbled in to something. |
The black helicopters were circling your house, looking for gaps in the tinfoil.
I am quite sure you'd like to get me in a bent-over position...I had that read on you fairly early in this thread. |
They were flow away from the storm... so they would not be damaged. They were 200-500+ miles away troll. |
Hmmmm.....
New Orleans has been controlled by the left for what, 60 years? Wonder why the levees didn't hold? Could it be that hundreds of millions of federal dollars sent to NO for levee improvements were instead allocated by the levee commission to buy a casino, a marina, and a corporate jet instead of actually being used to improve the levee network? Nah, it's Bush's fault. Right? For the love of Christ try google while you still have a shred of dignity. You should be embarrassed for posting this tripe. |
Where did the Levee money get spent? Look at the New Orleans Levee Board and its finances. Thier only job is to mainatin the Levees to stop things like this. They bought a casino. They flew board members and thier families all over on Levee money. They spend money on everything but levee maintenace. It is run by Democrats of course. Blaming Bush and a "helicopter shortage" for the levee break is like blaming you engine blowing on the tow truck company who was out on other calls..... when in fact you had not changed your oil in 30,000 miles. You have no grasp of common sense or logic. Typical democrat. |
I am not a troll. I do think the Feds blew it. I have told the truth about my background.
I'll watch the hearings in coming days. We shall see. |
I'm still trying to figure out how helicopters could have kept the levee from breaking.
I don't think helicopters fly very well in hurricanes. |
Beuller?....Beuller?.... |
Give him a chance he's Googling it. |
{deafening sound of crickets....} |
Wll then once again... What was your MOS? Where were you stationed? You should be able to tell us that... quickly. |
BAHAHAH!!!
I'm getting a Richard Nixon image here..."I am not a crook!" |
All I hear is chirping.
No MOS… I bet he was Navy SEAL and it is a secret. |
