Four years to the day.
One week from now. What will you, personally, be doing differently? |
Nothing...other than carrying my Kimber.
Still working, still trying to make a living, still reading the internet for my news.... Eyes have been wide open since 9-11, so nothing really has changed. HH |
Nothing. I still preach self reliance, I'm still alert of my surroundings, I'm still prejudiced towards odd looking characters or situations, and I'm still surviving. God bless families and victims.
A prayer for the families of the dead, and an ongoing hatred for the types that did it.
personally not much different but I'll probably add an M4gery to the vehicle.
This time I am prepared for anything that comes my way. Four years ago I only owned a Ruger MII pistol, not so today. I am not in fear of terrorists or anything like that but I sleep better at night knowing that I can survive if I need to. |
Thinking about how much I detest the R.O.P. So, pretty much the same thing as every other day.
A moment of silence prior to starting my 24 hours at the station.
Probably a few moments reflection and rememberance of experiencing that day. Otherwise, normal day.
Bacon and eggs for breakfast.
BBQ Pork sandwich for lunch, with some pork rinds on the side. A flight to Chicago in the afternoon. (Not on American or United though.) Double Cut Pork chops for dinner. I wonder if I can order them bacon wrapped too? |
I was working at a client's ranch on Sept. 11th, 2001. Since this ranch is in a fairly remote location, has its own water supply, and there was plenty of food on hand, I hunkered down there for a couple days until the dust started to clear.
I plan on returning this year. Only this time I'm going to spend the day shooting. God bless the victims. God damn the bastards who made them victims. |
I'll be watching TV while hiding under my bed and wearing a tinfoil hat.
I too will be working. Ironically, the exact same type of job, but I've had lots of changes in my career since then, so that's why I find it ironic.
As far as to the minute? I'll be asleep, cause I work nights. |
Instead of staring at my TV in shock and disbelief as buildings fall, I'll be staring at my TV in shock and disbelief as my 49ers suck ass for another season.
I'll waike up at my usual 4:30, ride the bus to work and do my normal job of supporting our troops who are up north kicking insurgent ass.
I'll wish I was back home with my wife and daughter. I'll be looking forward to coming home next month so I can do my first AR build. I'll get off work and hear the obligatory newscasts about "On this day 4 years ago..." Then I'll go to bed proud of what I'm doing and DAMN proud to be an American!! |
I think they should play the footage again on all the netwroks.
People forget too eaay. |
Thats a big 1+ brass the nation has a short term memory loss problem Personaly i think we should get some pay back on this day...

Lyrics:
I hear people saying we don't need this war I say there's some things worth fighting for What about our freedom and this piece of ground? We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in Before you start preaching Let me ask you this my friend CHORUS 1 Have you forgotten how it felt that day To see your homeland under fire And her people blown away? Have you forgotten when those towers fell? We had neighbors still inside Going through a living hell And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden Have you forgotten? They took all the footage off my T.V. Said it's too disturbing for you and me It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say If it was up to me I'd show it every day Some say this country's just out looking for a fight After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right CHORUS 1 Have you forgotten how it felt that day To see your homeland under fire And her people blown away? Have you forgotten when those towers fell? We had neighbors still inside Going through a living hell And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden Have you forgotten? I've been there with the soldiers Who've gone away to war And you can bet they remember Just what they're fighting for CHORUS 2 Have you forgotten all the people killed? Some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field Have you forgotten about our Pentagon? All the loved ones that we lost And those left to carry on Don't you tell me not to worry about Bin Laden Have you forgotten? Have you forgotten? Have you forgotten? Darryl Worley/Wynn Varble, 2003 |

I'm celebrating by having a pig roast. About 97 people are invited, including the guest of honor, a 100-125 lb pig with his head still on. I'll start BBQing him around 9 PM Saturday and we'll eat around 2-3 PM on Sunday.
Pics will be taken, some will be posted here, if you're lucky! Merlin |

Same thing as before, sitting in school.
and some lryics. SoulFly: Call to Arms All your beliefs filled up with lies Blinded from what you call prophets Your Jihad's a joke, revenge is our fight We'll crush the Al Quaeda to stop it Drop the bombs in... Drop the bombs in... Wipe out your muthafucking schemes Bring the troops in... Bring the troops in... Wipe out your minority World has united to weed out the scum Our people have all took a stand We're tired of your bullshit, the actions of few That threaten the future of man Drop the bombs in... Drop the bombs in... Wipe out your muthafucking schemes Dig the roots out... Dig the roots out... Your holy war is nothing to be proud A call to arms This call for pride You can never take from what we feel inside All our strength Is in our hearts This is our call to arms... |

At least this weekend, nothing since only 4 gas stations have fuel in my county.

Slightly off topic but on 09-10-01 I was at Yankee Stadium to watch my Red Sox and the Yankees with my brother ,my brother -in-law and my father-in-law but the game was rained out.My father in law had never been to a game at the stadium and died before we could make it back there.I just realized that this Saturday is the 10th and I'm going to Yankee Stadium with my brother and my father to watch the Red Sox and Yankees exactly 4 years to the day.weird!
As far as the 11th goes I will pray and go about my day loving my wife and kids. I will also be carrying my usp40c and have a house full of supplies for any emergency natural or man made. I dont expect ever using my psitol for more than target practice but I have always had it with me since that day. I will never forget the people who left for work that day never to return to thier families and the brave men and women who risked everything to help them at their own risk. I will also be thinking of the people who are in harms way now to prevent another day of terror. |
I'll wake up and fly my flag to show those cocksukers that we will not be beaten!
I suddenly like Soulfly much more than I did a few minutes ago. I had no idea that they had a song like that |
I will get up extra early on Sunday, I plan to play the following songs at the appropriate time:
The Star Spangled Banner - U.S. Army Band God Bless the USA - Lee Greenwood Freedom Isn't Free - U.S. Army Band And Chorus Hymn to the Fallen(end queue to Steven Speilberg's Saving Private Ryan) - U.S. Continental Army Band God Bless the USA - U.S. Army Band And Chorus After that reflect on those who lost their lives in IEF/OEF. The USA has paid dearly for freedom and it's way of life. And then continue with my daily life. |
I won't be glued to Fox news for 48 hours straight, I can tell you that.
I'll be working, and praying that one of our fine young men pops another Jihadi in rememberance. |
I'm the same as I was on 9/11/01, only more stocked up and prepared.
I will be flying my flag just a little more prouder on that day.
For the last four years I have put a 3x5 American flag on the ladder racks on my service van. I might do that again this year. |
You might want to reword your post, or edit it to say "celebrating your freedom" etc. I saw that and said "WTF is this ass celebrating?!" and then I took time to think about it. |
How's this? |
nothing, should I |
Without having read the thread, I can confidently answer,
ABSOLUTELY NOT. |
So, no one is going to spend it huddled in a little fort of ammo cans, MREs, water and toilet paper?
+1. |
Puting a new American flag on my truck. Have done it every year at this time.
Hopefully, I'll be sleeping in till noon like I did on 9-11-01.
I'm going to stuff my hollow points with bacon grease. So if I kill an Islamofacist It'll send him straight to hell.
