and then there's the rest of the story!
Folks, this doesn't mean poop, unless you're in Alabama or one of the states that extends reciprocity to everyone else's CCP's (eg. Kentucky). All it means is that Alabama is now allowedto enter into agreements with all of those states to request reciprocity. Previously they did not extend any offer of reciprocity to anyone. Any of those states that want reciprocity with Alabama can have it. That agreement does not mean that all of those states will have reciprocity with Alabama. An example would be my home state of Virginia. It's on the list, but it will not allow AL licensees to carry in Virginia, because by our law, to get reciprocity, your state has to have requirements as stringent as ours. Alabama has almost no requirements for CC, so they will not get reciprocity
In summary, unless your state allows Alabama residents to carry in your state, you will not be able to carry in Alabama. This article is somewhat misleading, but when you read the actual law that was written up, you'll see the light. Anyway, check the actual law, and you'll see what I mean. Meanwhile, keep pushing for additional concealed carry!!!
