I have some desiccant bags I use in my gun safe for I have not yet purchased a dehumidifier rod, to re-activate the desiccant bags you have to heat them in an oven for 16hrs at 250 degrees, the question is, can you re-activate them in a microwave oven being that that process would possibly be quicker.

we have always used the oven. Never thought about trying a microwave.

Don't know about the microwave thing, but the dessicant packs that I have in my safe have instructions to heat at 350 for 3 hours - my wife would not be a happy camper if I tied the oven up for 16 hours re-activating dessicant.

Has anyone figured out how NOT to destroy the bags in the oven?  Everytime I try to use the oven, at the set temp, the bags break.
