Some guy was doing a segment with Mike Myers.
Myers was sticking to the script. The other guy was
obviously not. He talked about how troops have been sent
to kill us (blacks). He finished by saying, "Bush doesn't care
about black people." Myers did a classic stunned double take.
They cut to some other guy who obviously wasn't ready...
He did about a thirty second "rap" about helping...It was a
trainwreck.
I can just hear millions of tv remotes, like mine, going "click".

I was on hold when he said that, when the young lady answered I told her I was going to make a donation but because of Mr. West political statement I changed my mind. She said what statement, I told her and hung up.
I don’t get pissed easily but that statement did it!

i recorded it and my wife got pissed when i told her that we would not be making a donation
then she got even madder when my business parter called and told me that our plans to make a donation should be cancelled to which i agreed

What would posses you to put a man who says that the National Guard is being sent to kill black people and that the President doesn't care about them on a national plea for donations? Do you feel that helped? That it was appropriate? I'd hope in the future you delay live broadcasts long enough to edit out when your moron celebrities go off the deep end. All you did was cost people aid money as folks like myself who are tired of listening to the media berating those that are trying to help, changed the channel.

To whom it may concern:

The devastation in the gulf coast region is tremendous, and my heart goes out to the people that have had their lives turned on end. However, lately the media has been doing it's best to portray the current white house administration as a group of people who don't care about the plight of the gulf coast region. It seems a disproportionate amount of the interviews in the region are people blaming the Bush administration for not doing enough. As a white republican, I am getting pretty fed up with the demonizing via the media I've received, but I understand the frustration of people that have been living the last 5 days in a cesspool.

However, the last straw that broke the camels back is the telethon you had on the air last night. I've had it with the race-baiting and vitriol that has been hurled in my direction. If NBC condones this type of behavior, which it apparently does as I have not seen a formal apology issued for the comments made by Kayne West on your airwaves, it can count on the fact that I will not support your relief efforts with one penny of my money. If Hollywood and it's ilk think they can continue to insult the intelligence of the conservative portion of this country, I hope they come forward and donate to this relief effort, because I for one have had enough.
